ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Aparna is a certified meditation instructor trained in the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda. She is a certified yoga instructor trained in Hatha Yoga from the Ananda School for Yoga and Meditation, in California, USA, and received Kriya initiation in 2020. Also a Reiki Master and Access Bars Practitioner. She offers energetic therapies for the mind and body and tools for deep emotional and physical healing. She created the Healing Space in 2016 in order to support and foster a sense of peace and harmony and to create a much needed oasis away from the fast paced, high stress society that we inhabit. She is dedicated to spreading the message of mindfulness and health to her clients, sharing her beliefs that life should be lived with joy, gratitude, and being present in the moment. Whether you are experiencing pain, stress or simply want to cultivate physical and mental wellbeing, The Healing Space provides a safe, healing and friendly environment to do so and shares tools that promote healing and awareness through a combination of private energy therapy sessions, as well as private and/or group pranayama, yoga and mediation classes. After Yogananda's teachings of Self-Realization, her meditation and yoga practices uplift the consciousness, attune to the subtle energies of the body and facilitate a deep spiritual experience through breath (pranayama), posture (asana) and silent affirmations which prepares the body and mind for inner communion. She pursued her training in Paris, Tokyo, Chiang Mai, the US and has come full circle back to the Indian subcontinent where she now resides in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

On the importance healing properties of sleep.

The rejuvenating effects of sleep are due to man’s temporary unawareness of body and breathing. The sleeping man becomes a yogi; each night he unconsciously performs the yogic rite of releasing himself from bodily identification, and of merging the life force with healing currents in the main brain region and the six sub-dynamos of his spinal centers. The sleeper thus dips unknowingly into the reservoir of cosmic energy which sustains all life.

The voluntary yogi performs a simple, natural process consciously, not unconsciously like the slow-paced sleeper. The Kriya Yogi uses his technique to saturate and feed all his physical cells with undecaying light and keep them in a magnetized state. He scientifically makes breath unnecessary, without producing the states of subconscious sleep or unconsciousness...

Introspection, or “sitting in the silence,” is an unscientific way of trying to force apart the mind and senses, tied together by the life force. The contemplative mind, attempting its return to divinity, is constantly dragged back toward the senses by the life currents. Kriya, controlling the mind directly through the life force, is the easiest, most effective, and most scientific avenue of approach to the Infinite. In contrast to the slow, uncertain “bullock cart” theological path to God, Kriya may justly be called the “airplane” route.

The yogic science is based on an empirical consideration of all forms of concentration and meditation exercises. Yoga enables the devotee to switch off or on, at will, life current from the five sense telephones of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Attaining this power of sense-disconnection, the yogi finds it simple to unite his mind at will with divine realms or with the world of matter. No longer is he unwillingly brought back by the life force to the mundane sphere of rowdy sensations and restless thoughts. Master of his body and mind, the Kriya Yogi ultimately achieves victory over the “last enemy,” death.

So shalt thou feed on Death, that feeds on men:
And Death once dead, there’s no more dying then.

A Heart Prayer for the Earth

1. Imagine you are breathing in and out through your heart, until a calm, peaceful feeling of love begins to nestle in your heart. Take slow, long full breaths.

2. Imagine the planet, pristine, vibrant with life and health and cared for and appreciated by the beings that inhabit her.

3. Now imagine there are other people like you all around the planet, feeling appreciation and love for Mother Earth. Feel the power of this emotion amplify in your heart, as you experience the collective energy.

4. Finally imagine this as light energy emanating from all of our hearts circling our planet, dissolving all disharmony and bringing about cooperation and mutual aid, connecting us to one another, to nature and reconnecting us to the planet.

5. Send your love and compassion to Earth and all of her residents, and feel the love amplify.

1. Feel the the emotion of appreciation in your chest area, by thinking of something or someone you appreciate.
2. Breathe slowly and deeply. Visualize breathing through your heart.
3. Take 5 second in-breaths, and 5 second out breaths, with a pause in between. Relax your body.
4. Immediately, notice a greater sense of gratitude, kindness, peace and calm, increasing your heart-brain coherence and your well-being.
