In 1994 Ziri Subedar Group started its first manual mill for producing steel,the re-rolling mill was one of the very first concerns of the group. To support the construction industry in Bangladesh by providing cheaper alternate to imported finished steel products in form of structural steel and semi finished steel in form of billets by way of direct use of plates and sections recovered from the discarded ships and providing raw material as melting scrap for the production of deformed bars and light sections, Ziri Subedar Group by adopting the concept of recycling has set up a ship breaking yard I year 1996 at Chittagong.
