On examination; his left radial pulse was feeble & BP was non recordable but in Right side Pulse ok & BP -165/95 mm-Hg.

২৫০ রান চেজ করতে গিয়ে ইংল্যান্ড প্রথমেই ৪ উইকেট হারিয়ে চাপে পড়ে যায়। নেইল ফেয়ারব্রাদার এবং আল্যান ল্যাম্ব ৭২ রানের জুটি সেই চাপ কাটিয়ে আস্তে আস্তে জয়ের দিকে এগিয়ে যাচ্ছিল। পাকিস্থান অধিনায়ক ইমরান খান তখন অদ্ভূত এক সিদ্বান্ত নেন। তিনি তার মুল বোলার ওয়াসিম আকরাম কে বোলিং এ ফেরত আনেন। তখনকার দিনে ফাস্ট বোলাররা মুলত প্রথম ও শেষ ১০ ওভার এ বল করত।
আকরাম ওই ওভারেই পর পর দুই বলে এলেন ল্যাম্ব এবং ক্রিস লুইসকে বোল্ড করেন, যা খেলার মোড় ঘুরিয়ে দেয়; ইংল্যান্ড পরাজিত হয়।
ইমরানের ওই সিদ্বান্তকে ক্রিকেটের অন্যতম সেরা 'ক্যাপ্টেনস ডিসিশন' হিসেবে ধরা হয়।
