🌍 World Tuberculosis (TB) Day 2025 | Bangladesh Lung Foundation

Bangladesh detected 3.13 lakh TB cases in 2024, up from 3.01 lakh in 2023, after screening 30 lakh symptomatic individuals, according to NTP. As one of the 30 high TB-burden countries, Bangladesh observes World Tuberculosis Day, 2025 under the theme: "A TB-free Bangladesh can be achieved through commitment, investment, and service delivery."

Today, on World TB Day 2025, we reaffirm our commitment to fighting tuberculosis in Bangladesh. Despite significant progress, TB remains a major public health challenge, with rising multidrug-resistant TB (MDR-TB) cases and post-tubercular lung disease (PTLD) affecting many survivors.

The Bangladesh Lung Foundation (BLF) plays a vital role in addressing tuberculosis and post-tubercular lung disease (PTLD) through advocacy, research, and collaboration. It actively supports National TB Control Program (NTP) initiatives, BLF collaborates with ICDDR,B on research to screen TB with AI and ultra portable Xray and works with the Damien Foundation to enhance rehabilitation strategies.

Join us in raising awareness and advocating for stronger policies, better treatment access, and continued research to eliminate TB and support survivors. Together, we can ensure a TB-free Bangladesh!
