CML Foundation Bangladesh

We are national not-for profit organizations supporting patients with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML) and their relatives in Bangladesh. We do this by sharing knowledge and best practice, running joint campaigns, and educating advocates how to build and grow patient organizations. The foundation is run by volunteers who are CML patients and survivors, haematologists, oncologists and social workers.

We will modernise our organisation’s operations to ensure maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness in CML management. We will supporting our health infrastructure—for population-based, clinical and laboratory-based—to ensure it is mission and vision. Our key objectives are –
(1) Assists CML patients upon diagnosis with essential information and evidence-based treatment
(2) Disseminate knowledge to facilitate the delivery of evidence based approaches to control of CML and develop standards and tools for prevention, early detection, treatment and cure of CML
(3) Develop network on CML control partners and experts at national, regional and global levels
(4) Increase political commitment for overall cancer prevention and control
(5) Strength health system at local and national levels to deliver standard care for CML patients
(6) And overall cancer advocacy and conduct research on CML to monitor the disease burden in Bangladesh as well as in Southeast-Asian countries
