Our Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery service is home to Dr. Tanveer Ahmed, a leading Bangladeshi Plastic, Hand and Aesthetic Surgeon who has been trained in Bangladesh with world renowned Bangladeshi Plastic Surgeon Profesor Shafquat H Khundkar and other renowned Plastic Surgeon Professor Md. Sazzad Khondoker and Prof. Rayhana Awwal at Dhaka Medical College Hospital since 2009. Later on he is the only Plastic & Aesthetic Surgeon of the country who has been trained in Australia, UK, USA, Canada and Thailand with different prestigious fellowship scholarships offered from respective countries between 2013 and 2016. Dr. Tanveer, graduated from Mymensingh Medical College under the University of Dhaka in 2003 and went on to do all his post-graduate training in Bangladesh and worked in BSMMU, BIRDEM and DMCH. He obtained his FCPS from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2013, and his FACS from American College of Surgeons in 2017. Over the years, he has helped numerous patients seeking Plastic Surgery in Dhaka / Bangladesh realize their dreams of a functionally reconstructed body parts following trauma, cancer, congenital anomalies or after any surgery and beautifully contoured body and a radiant, youthful facial appearance. Dr. Tanveer recognizes undergoing Plastic Surgery is a major decision requiring careful consideration and more importantly his working experience with leading Plastic Surgeons of the world like G Ian Taylor, Russell J Corlett, Mark Ashton, Peter C Neligan, F**d Nahai, Gregory Evans, James Chang, Barbara Jemec and Frank Lista which helps him to think diversely. This is why he takes the time to provide his Plastic, Reconstructive and Cosmetic surgery patients with extensive information about all aspects of the proposed treatments with optimum concentration to the patient. This approach helps relieve patients' anxiety and allows Dr. Tanveer to consistently deliver outstanding aesthetic as well as surgical results. Dr. Tanveer loves to research and publication. He has 27 publications, 7 researches, more than 50 scientific presentations at home & abroad, 7 scientific posters, 2 book chapters and a book. He travelled 17 countries. Currently the Editor of BCPS Journal and Reviewer of PRS, PRS Global Open and Int. Wound Journal. He is the Scientific and Publication secretary of Society of Plastic Surgeons of Bangladesh and Bangladesh Hand Surgery Society; Member of Plastic Surgery Research Council, USA and American Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has collaborative works as a faculty with BAPRAS, BFIRST, Interplast Australia, Singhealth, BSSH, BBA, ASSH, ISBI and Resurge. He is an international faculty for ATLS and EMSB. His particular interest besides reconstructive surgery is mostly Aesthetic & Cosmetic, Hand, Paediatric Plastic, Facial Plastic, Gynaecomastia, Skin Cancers and Congenital Defects.
