Seedling Therapy Center's Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) service supports children and young people aged 0-18 years old who have speech, language, communication and Physical difficulties.We provide support and advice for children and their families to enable them communicate effectively and overcome physical problems at their optimum level. The goal of the Center i
s for each client to develop successful communication for life. In collaboration with parents, educators and health care providers, the center will maximize each client's strengths and guide them to overcome their communication challenges. We offer screenings, evaluations and therapy for the following:
• Autism Spectrum Disorder
• Fluency disorders (stammering, cluttering)
• Articulation disorders (pronunciation difficulties)Language Delay
• Delayed speech & language associated with hearing loss, seizures & syndromes
• Dysphagia(swallowing difficulties)
• Apraxia
• Cleft lip & palate
• Cerebral palsy
• Reading Difficulties
• Other oro-motor difficulties. Our Services:
•Assess a child/young person’s communication skills across the above areas to identify specific areas of difficulty, and provide strategies to support improvements in communication.
•Work with families /careers to jointly identify how best they can help their child to communicate to their full potential.
•Work directly with children /young people, individually or in groups, dependent on their needs.
•Support parents and school staff, by helping them to adapt the way in which they give information or communicate with the child/young person, in order to make language simpler to understand.
•Assess eating/drinking skills and swallowing and give advice to support these skills and improve safe feeding/drinking.
সিডলিং থেরাপি সেন্টারে বিশেষ শিশুদের অত্যন্ত প্রয়োজনীয় দু’ধরনের থেরাপি ( অকুপেশনাল থেরাপি ও স্পিচ এন্ড ল্যাংগুয়েজ থেরাপি ) প্রদান করা হচ্ছে যার মাধ্যমে শিশুরা তুলনামূলকভাবে দ্রুত শারীরিক গঠন, আচরণ, অভ্যাস, কথা বলার উন্নতির মাধ্যমে সহজেই সামাজিকভাবে ভাবের আদান প্রদানে সক্ষম হয়ে উঠতে পারে। এর ফলে তার ভবিষ্যৎ সামাজিক পথচলা যেমন সহজ হয়ে উঠবে তেমনি সমাজে প্রতিষ্ঠিত হওয়ার ক্ষেত্রেও সে অনেকটা এগিয়ে যাবে।
প্রধান দু’ধরনের থেরাপি হলো-
১। স্পিচ এন্ড ল্যাংগুয়েজ থেরাপিঃ এটা বিশেষ এক ধরনের চিকিৎসার ব্যবস্থা যার সাহায্যে কথা বলতে অক্ষম অথবা স্বাভাবিকভাবে কথা বলতে পারে না এমন রোগীদের চিকিৎসা করা হয়। উচ্চারনে সমস্যা তোতলামি, ভাষা বুঝতে সমস্যা, দেরিতে কথা বলা, কানে কম শোনা, ইত্যাদি কারণে যারা স্বাভাবিকভাবে কথা বলতে পারে না তাদের স্বাভাবিকভাবে কথা বলতে সাহায্য করে স্পিচ থেরাপি। স্পিচ এ্যান্ড ল্যাংগুয়েজ থেরাপি এছাড়াও শিশুর সামাজিক যোগাযোগ বা অন্যের সাথে ভাবের আদান প্রদান জনিত সমস্যা দূর করতে সহায়তা করে।
২। অকুপেশনাল থেরাপিঃ এটা এমন এক চিকিৎসা ব্যবস্থা যার মাধ্যমে একজন শারীরিক বা মানসিকভাবে সমস্যাগ্রস্ত শিশুকে তার সমস্যাগুলো দূর করার মাধ্যমে তাকে সামর্থ অনুযায়ী দৈনন্দিন কার্যকলাপে যথাসম্ভব সক্ষম করে তুলতে সহায়তা করা হয়। আচরণগত সমস্যা; অতিরিক্ত বেশি বা কম চঞ্চলতা; শারীরিক ভারসাম্যজনিত সমস্যা; কোনো বস্তু, আলো বা শব্দের প্রতি বিরক্তি; বিভিন্ন অঙ্গের সমন্বিত কাজে দূর্বলতা; খাদ্য গ্রহণ, ঘুম ইত্যাদি দৈনন্দিন কাজে অনীহা বা দূর্বলতা এসব কারণে যেসকল শিশু সমস্যায় ভোগে তাদেরকে শারীরিক ও মানসিকভাবে সাবলম্বী করে তুলতে সাহায্য করে অকুপেশনাল থেরাপি।
