We are very proud to be associated with Uttaran for the project titled "Livelihood Support for the Extreme Poor Families of Teknaf and Ukhyia Upazilla". Under this project, a total of 200 trained youths, living in different remote unions of Teknaf & Ukhyia Upazilla, have received toolkits to start their independent entrepreneurial journey. Most of these youths did not able to complete their formal education due to various personal and socio-economic issues, although they are required to contribute to their families. Now with this toolkits, they would be able to focus more on their respective trade and hopefully will earn a decent living to support their families.

Mr. Sujeet Pai, Managing Director and Ms. Saiqa Mazed, Head of Human Resources of Linde Bangladesh Limited attended the toolkit distribution programs along with other officials of Linde and Uttaran. Representatives of local Union Porishod also supported the beneficiary selection and distribution program.

In a historic moment, the first debulking station in Bangladesh was recently inaugurated at Benapole, Jashore bordering India. The occasion was graced by Mr. Moloy Banerjee, Head of ASEAN & South Asia and Mr. Abhijit Banerjee, Head South Asia who travelled through the land border from Kolkata, India.

Learning from the COVID experience last year, as one of the key initiatives, Linde Bangladesh has installed the debulking station that would act as an additional storage hub and provide the much needed Medical Oxygen Security for Bangladesh. Our commitment to the nation continues.

BOC was born in 1886 as Brin’s Oxygen Company. Originally named for its two founders – Arthur and Leon Brin – the company was renamed as the British Oxygen Company in 1906, the same year it negotiated use of cryogenic air separation process patents created by Carl von Linde. In fact, von Linde was given a stake and a board position in the company as part of the deal.

One hundred years later – on Sept. 5, 2006 – the relationship between Linde and BOC was made permanent through a merger that created the world’s largest industrial gas company, a position Linde still holds today. BOC UK & Ireland
