About Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury
Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury completed his MBBS from Dhaka Medical College. He obtained his Fellowship in Ophthalmology in the year 1991 from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons. He has done post-graduate fellowship in Phaco Surgery at Rahgudeep Eye Clinic, Ahmadabad and LV Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, India. He has introduced Phaco Surgery in Bangladesh. He is a high volume Phaco Surgeon, doing more than 1000 surgeries every year. Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Chowdhury is the Founder Chairman of Bangladesh Eye Hospital, the first sub-specialty based eye hospital in Bangladesh which has now five branches in Dhaka and Chittagong. He founded Bangladesh Eye Trust Hospital, a non-profit eye hospital for the underprivileged. Dr. Chowdhury has started the post-graduate fellowship programs for ophthalmologists at Bangladesh Eye Hospital and fellowship in Cataract, Glaucoma, Retina and Uveitis has been introduced. He also established a charitable eye hospital, Abdul Hai Chowdhury Eye Hospital and Sufia Chowdhury High School in his village at Narsingdi. He has several publication and presentation to his credit at national and international forum. Dr. Chowdhury has also taken initiative to take the health services in Bangladesh at international standard, by establishing Bangladesh Specialized Hospital. A multi-disciplinary hospital in Dhaka.
