ENT and Head-Neck Cancer Hospital and Institute, Bangladesh Non-profit hospital run by ENT Foundation of Bangladesh The main ENT related problem causing morbidity is deafness. It is most common in rural villages.

Bangladesh is a developing country facing a multitude of health problems with a large emphasis on the diseases of the ear, nose and throat (ENT). There are about 1 million cancer patients in Bangladesh, 30% of these patients are ENT related. At present, limited facilities are available for treatment of these patients. Consequently the well to do patients goes abroad for treatment of ENT & Head-Nec

k Cancer related diseases. For a population of 160 million people, there are only 250 beds in government hospitals for ENT patients. Even the private sector and NGOs are struggling in this sector. With a view to improve the situation, some philanthropist social workers, doctors and other professionals formed The ‘ENT and Head-Neck Cancer Foundation’ and started a ENT & Head-Neck Cancer Hospital in April, 2004 with a very limited facility in a rented property in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. With the above background, the foundation proposed to establish a modern ENT Hospital and Institute at Plot No. F-12 Agargaon Administrative Area, Sher-E Bangla Nagar, Dhaka on land allotted by the Government. The project was undertaken at a cost of Taka 249.35 million jointly funded by the Govt. of Bangladesh and The ENT & Head-Neck Cancer Foundation. Objectives of the ENT Foundation:

* Establishment of a 100 bed ENT and Head Neck Cancer Hospital and Institute at its own premises
* Initiation of post graduate training on ENT specialty and subspecialty
* Undertaking research activities on ENT and Head Neck Cancer and other related diseases
* Building up public awareness of the prevention and early treatment of different ENT disorders including head neck cancer.

আজ, ৪ এপ্রিল ২০২৬, শনিবার ইএনটি এন্ড হেড নেক ক্যান্সার হসপিটাল এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা প্রফেসর ডা. এম. আলাউদ্দিন স্যারের ১৫তম মৃত্যুবার্ষিকী উপলক্ষে দোয়া মাহফিল এবং স্মৃতিচারণ অনুষ্ঠান আয়োজন করা হয়।

এ উপলক্ষে ইএনটি ফাউন্ডেশনের সকল চিকিৎসক ও কর্মকর্তা-কর্মচারী একত্রিত হয়ে তাঁর অসামান্য অবদানের প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করেন। অনুষ্ঠানে উপস্থিত ছিলেন জনাব সিদ্দিকুর রহমান চৌধুরী, সভাপতি; প্রফেসর কামরুল হাসান তরফদার, মহাসচিব; প্রফেসর জাহানারা আলাউদ্দিন, সহ-সভাপতি; প্রফেসর মণি লাল আইচ লিটু, যুগ্ম-সচিব; প্রফেসর ডা. এম. এস. রহমান শামীম; প্রফেসর ডা. মাহমুদুল হাসান এবং প্রফেসর ডা. ফিরোজ আহমেদ খান।

সকলে তাঁদের প্রিয় প্রফেসর আলাউদ্দিন স্যারের স্মৃতিচারণ করেন এবং তাঁর প্রতি গভীর শ্রদ্ধা ও কৃতজ্ঞতা প্রকাশ করেন। অনুষ্ঠানে তাঁর আত্মার মাগফিরাত ও চিরশান্তি কামনা করে সংক্ষিপ্ত দোয়া মাহফিলের মাধ্যমে সমাপ্ত হয়।

Today, 4 April 2026, we solemnly commemorated the 15th death anniversary of our respected founder, Professor Dr. M. Alauddin Sir.

On this occasion, all doctors and staff members of the ENT Foundation gathered to pay tribute to his remarkable legacy and invaluable contributions. Among those present were Mr. Siddikur Rahman Choudhury, President; Prof. Kamrul Hassan Tarafder, Secretary General; Prof. Jahanara Alauddin, Vice President; Prof. Mani Lal Aich Litu Joint Secretary; Prof. Dr. M. S. Rahman Shameem; Prof. Dr. Mahmudul Hassan; and Prof. Dr. Firoz Ahmed Khan.

Everyone shared their fond memories and heartfelt reflections on their beloved Prof. Alauddin Sir, remembering him with deep respect, gratitude, and affection. The program concluded with a short Dua seeking eternal peace for his soul.

May Allah grant him Jannatul Ferdous.

World Hearing Day 2026 was proudly observed at the ENT & Head–Neck Cancer Hospital and Institute on 3 March 2026.

The day was marked with an awareness rally, free hearing screening for school children, and a roundtable discussion focusing on prevention and the future of hearing care. The activities aligned with this year’s global theme: “From Communities to Classrooms: Hearing Care for All Children.”

The program was honored by the presence of Chief Guest – Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, Chief Editor of Manobjomin. The session was moderated by Prof. Dr. Kamrul Hassan Tarafder, Secretary General of the Institute, and presided over by Mr. Siddikur Rahman Choudhury, Former Finance Secretary, People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
