Organic cotton : New hope for future

Now a dayes the uses of organoc cotton is increasing day by day in whole world due to eco-friendly issue. All big ready garments brands are trying to increase the order of products made from organic cotton. That's why suppliers are also increasing the product development based on customer demand & uses of organic cotton already increased significantly in textile industries of Bangladesh, India, China & Turkey.

The concept of 'organic cotton' is successfully being marketed to brands and retailers in the fashion industry as being part of their policies for CSR.The new involvement of large brands and retailers increases the number of points of sale exponentially, making organic cotton items available to consumers in the usual points of purchase for textiles and clothing. Organic cotton items are increasingly found in regular sale channels such as high-street fashion shops, department stores, and supermarkets.

Organic cotton is in demand. Production and trade increased 70% per year on average between 2018 and 2017, and have more than doubled annually since 2012 - 2016.

Demand for organic products has become significant in the main consumer markets (United States, EU, Japan), even when market share is still small. World's big brand for ready garments product like LPP decided to increase storing of organic cotton products more than 40% from previous season. Based on this target, they are sourcing organic cotton manufacturing factories all over world to place order. Not only LPP, but also all others big brands are seeking suppliers to place order of organic cotton products mainly in Bangladesh, Turkey & India.

New Textile-circuit developed by Karl Mayer:

The electrical conductivity of warp-knitted textiles is the subject of extensive development work at Karl Mayer. In the project entitled textile-circuit, multibar raschel machines are used with and without a jacquard facility to incorporate conductive yarns directly into the textile during manufacture.
“The first results are now available and show what can be achieved, including the use of textiles for remote control,” the company reports. The original control tool and its production principles were both successfully shown at the IDTechEx Show in Santa Clara and at the Aachen-Dresden-Denkendorf International Textile Conference, both held in November.
Pattern provides electrical conductivity
Electrically conductive structures with an unlimited range of designs can be produced on multibar raschel machines. This is possible thanks to multibar patterning using Karl Mayer’s innovative string bar system, with which the yarns can be positioned individually and as required onto a ground – following the principles of tailored fibre placement. The ground can be produced with a wide variety of different designs, and jacquard patterns can also be worked, depending on the type of machine.
“As well as offering extensive design freedom, warp knitting also delivers maximum efficiency when producing electrically conductive textiles,” the manufacturer adds. “Furthermore, the typical performance features of textiles, such as softness, flexibility, elasticity and breathability, are fully retained.”
Production without any problems
At the functional heart of these innovative e-warp-knitted textiles are filaments containing metal, such as Elitex. In the experience of Sophia Krinner, a textiles Product Developer at Karl Mayer, “silver-plated polyamide can be processed very easily on multibar raschel machines.” Her aim in the next few stages is to optimise the sequences on the machine to suit mass production.
Ms Krinner studied the processing of functional yarns as part of her master’s degree. As well as Elitex, she also achieved good results with the warp knitting of other fine, insulating metal filaments and metallised yarns,

Hohenstein now offers waste water testing

-News collected

Following its recent recognition by the Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Program as a partnering wastewater testing laboratory, Hohenstein now offers customers the security of ZDHC-compliant manufacturing.
As an internationally accredited testing laboratory, service provider and research partner of the textiles industry, Hohenstein says it is thrilled to further support the objectives of the ZDHC and the ZDHC Roadmap.

Like Hohenstein and the Oeko-Tex Association, the ZDHC has the goal of significantly reducing or completely banning the use of harmful chemicals in the production process of textiles, leather and shoes. By testing wastewater values, Hohenstein supports the industry on the path to reduced emissions.

Hohenstein has been a member of the ZDHC and its laboratory working group since December 2018. Chemicals can be tested for ZDHC MRSL (Manufactured Restricted Substances List) conformity using Eco Passport by Oeko-Tex.
As a test and research laboratory, Hohenstein already has many years of experience of handling chemicals in the textiles industry. In this sense, as a new waste water testing laboratory recognised by the ZDHC, Hohenstein is also pleased to be able to support the objectives of the ZDHC and its roadmap in this regard.
