Debate and Quiz Society-SSMC (DQS-SSMC in short) is a voluntary student organization of Sir Salimullah Medical College, Dhaka, Bangladesh which focuses on co-curricular and extra-curricular activities of medical students, mainly debate and quiz. It has expanded its arena of activity since its establishment on January 31,2013. Activities:
As described before, DQS mainly focuses on regular practice
of debate and quiz amongst the medical students. That’s why it organizes regular workshops and seminars on helpful topics guided by experienced and professional trainers. Besides, it also emphasizes on creative activity like poster, wall magazine, photography, art and communication skill. That’s why it has so far organized ‘ভাষা প্রতিযোগিতা’ , ‘স্বাধীনতা সপ্তাহ’ and ‘অস্তিত্বে একাত্তর!’, the last one being a milestone in the history of SSMC as Dr. Nuzhat Chowdhury, daughter of Dr. Abdul Alim Chowdhury received an honor for her father from DQS. DQS-SSMC also believes in change, in fresh new ideas. That’s why it has introduced exclusive brands like ‘MEDICAL OLYMPIAD’, ‘mediSPELL’. In November 2013, it successfully launched a program with a spectrum impossible to achieve. Participants from than 23 Medical and Dental Colleges and 12 Universities participated in the “CARNIVAL CAPTIVE-2013’’, the biggest inter-university event of the year. Our Honr. Principal Prof. Dr. Dilip Kumar Dhar Sir is the chief patron of this organization. It is patronized by Vice Principal Prof. Dr. A.Z.M. Shakhawat Hossain and Prof. Dr. Anup Kumar Saha.
