Prof.Dr.Tapesh Kumar Paul

Prof. (Dr.) Tapesh Kumar Paul has over 15 years experience in General and Onco Surgery. He obtained MBBS degree from Dhaka Medical College in 1998 ; after obtaining his FCPS in Surgery from Bangladesh in 2004 and MS in Surgical Oncology from BSMMU in 2006 . He has special interest in Breast Surgeries. Prof. (Dr.) Tapesh Kumar Paul is renowned in the country for his expertise in managing all kinds of breast pathology including breast abscess, seroma, fibroadenoma, gynecomastia (male breast enlargement) and breast cancer; he has performed thousands of breast surgeries including breast conserving surgery (Lumpectomy) and surgical removal of all part of a breast (Mastectomy). So far he has performed over 2000 breast surgeries, which includes more than 1000 Mastectomy, over 800 breast tumor surgeries and other procedures. Further his expertise includes all kinds of surgery related to gastrointestinal system, gall bladder, bile duct and liver (hepatobiliary system), colon & re**um. He regularly practices critical surgeries like removal of the pancreatic head (Whipple's operation), removal of entire colon in case of colon cancer, anterior resection of colon, gastrectomy, etc. He has performed a long series of revision gall bladder and bile duct surgeries, most of which were initially done in peripheral/rural centers. He commonly undertakes operation for hemorrhoids (piles) including the Longo's operation. Furthermore, he has high skills and experience in managing abdominal trauma like road traffic accidents, bullet and knife injuries. He is currently working as a Head of the Department of Surgery in Delta Medical College & Hospital.
