Diffusion✅ :it is the rendom movement of any particle from higher conc°to lower conc.

It depends on pressure, temp, conc.gradient
✅types:
1.simple
2.facilitated

Factors✅:

Example✅:
A tea bag immersed in a cup of hot water will diffuse into the water and change its colour.

2. A spray of perfume or room freshner will get dissolved into the air

Significance:✅
1.during the process of respiration this process helps in diffusing the carbon di oxide gas through the cell membrane into the blood.
2.diffusion also occurs in plant cell.in all green plants water present in the soil diffuses inyo plants through their root hair cell

Hyperkalemia
Def:
When k+ level is more than 5 mmol/l its called hyperkalemia

Cause:crush injury
Burn
Mismatched blood transfusion
Tumor lysis
K sparing diuretics

Clinical features:
Muscle cramps
Weakness
Hupotension
Paresthesia.

Investigation:
S.electrolyte
Ecg:
Tall peaked t waves
Small broad or absent p wave.
Widening qrs complexes.
S.creatinine
Blood urea
CPK

Treatment
Calcium Gluconate10%:

10ml over 10 minute i/v stat.
Repeat after 5 mins if no improvement in the ECG.

Insulin:
12.5 unit in 250 ml Nutridex solution.
100 ml of this solution i/v via microburette 6 hourly @ 100 microdrops/ min.
This help to shift the blood K into the inside of the cell and reduce serum K

Nebulaization with Salbutamol:6 hourly.

Inj fusamide: 20mg/ amp: 2 amp l/v BD

Calcium resonium powder: 15gm po 8 houly mixed with water.

The latter two forms of treatment will help to get rid of the excess k.

Note: if acidosis present sodium bi carbonate used
