DON'T FORGET EYE TEST.
Allows you to assess, in the first hours of life, the presence of some eye diseases. A light source out of a device called ophthalmoscope, resembles a flesh light, and is observed the reflection that comes from the pupils. When the retina is hit by this light, healthy eyes reflect shades of red, orange or yellow. In some diseases, it is not possible to observe the reflection or their quality is bad, whitish. The comparison of the reflections of two eyes also provides important information, as differences of degree between the eyes or strabismus.Prevents eye test and diagnose diseases like retinopathy of prematurity, congenital cataracts, glaucoma, retinoblastoma, infections, birth trauma and blindness

Contact lens will monitor intraocular pressure round the clock!
A rigid, gas-permeable CL was designed as a doughnut shape with a 3-mm hole, where the BL film-based sensor was incorporated. The sensor was a polycarbonate film coated with a polycrystalline layer of the highly piezoresistive molecular conductor β-(ET), which can detect deformations caused by pressure changes of 1 mm Hg.
A study testing the safety and tolerability of a contact lens sensor designed to assist in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma suggests that the device is safe and relatively well tolerated.

The sensor is discussed in a study published in the JAMA Ophthalmology, was designed to measure intraocular pressure during a 24-hour period.

The aim of the study was to test the safety, reproducibility, and tolerability of day-long monitoring with the contact lens sensor. Forty people who either had glaucoma (n = 19) or were suspected of having glaucoma (n = 21) made up the subject pool. The patients took part in two 24-hour intraocular monitoring sessions 1 week apart.

The researchers monitored for adverse events, assessed the tolerability of the contact lens via visual analogue scales, and determined the reproducibility of the signal patterns between the intraocular monitoring sessions, using Pearson correlations.

This study reveals that the contact lens sensor provides a safe and well-tolerated approach to 24-hour intraocular pressure monitoring in glaucoma patients. The pressure sensor contact lens appears safe and tolerable.
