Kidney cancer is a challenge that touches lives deeply, but it cannot silence the courage of patients, caregivers, and researchers.

It often develops when kidney cells grow abnormally, influenced by risks such as smoking, obesity, high blood pressure, or family history.

While not all causes can be prevented, healthier choices, quitting smoking, maintaining weight, staying active, and protecting the kidneys from toxins can lower risk.

This time, we embrace the theme “Unstoppable Together”, uniting communities with clarity, compassion, and innovation.

Together, we are unstoppable, driving hope, progress, and better answers for every journey.

Not every cancer starts with obvious symptoms.

Kidney tumours can grow quietly for years because the kidneys sit deep inside the body. In many cases, people may not notice anything unusual until much later, and some tumours are even discovered during scans done for other medical concerns.

Swipe through to learn why kidney cancer can develop without clear warning signs, the symptoms that may appear later, and why early detection matters.

Prevention is powerful, and detection saves lives.

Research shows that up to 40% of cancers can be prevented through lifestyle changes, and early detection can dramatically increase survival rates.

Regular screenings, healthy habits, and open conversations are the strongest tools we have.

At Parkway Cancer Center, we believe care must begin before illness, with awareness, respect, and science that protects every journey.

Together, we stand with patients, families, and the knowledge that makes healing possible.

This month, let’s act early, live healthier, and talk openly because prevention and detection are the first steps toward hope.

A cancer diagnosis can affect many aspects of a person’s life.

As Dr Wong Siew Wei shares, it can shape daily routines, emotional well-being, and relationships, often in ways that extend far beyond the condition itself.

This is what makes medical oncology a deeply humbling field. Care goes beyond treatment alone, involving an understanding of each person’s experience and the challenges they may face along the way.

At Parkway Cancer Centre, this approach to care is reflected in how doctors work closely with patients, supporting them not just medically, but through the different aspects of their journey.

In supporting these different aspects, doctors are able to make a meaningful difference, not only in managing the condition, but also in helping people continue to live with purpose and quality of life.

As cancer care continues to evolve, advances in treatment are creating more opportunities to improve outcomes and support patients more meaningfully.

🥗🍓What we eat doesn’t just affect our gut, but also plays a role in long-term colorectal health.

Dietary habits play an important role in digestive wellness and are associated with colorectal cancer risk. Adding fibre-rich and gut-friendly foods to your meals can help support digestive health.

Every woman’s cancer journey is different.

Some face it themselves, while many walk beside loved ones as caregivers, offering strength and hope through the hardest times.

At Parkway Cancer Centre, we believe both patients and caregivers deserve care that is personal and compassionate.

When women give time to their health, they gain the strength to keep going. When they give support, people gain hope to face tomorrow. When they raise awareness, people feel protected for future generations. Giving to health means gaining resilience and life.

This International Women’s Day, we embrace the theme Give to Gain- because the gaining of a beautiful life ahead comes from providing for it.

Ramadan is deeply personal, and so is cancer care.

During this time, many patients and families ask the same question:
“Can I fast?”

The truth is, there is no single answer. Cancer treatment, medications, nutrition needs, and overall health make each situation unique.

That’s why decisions during Ramadan should be made with personalised medical guidance, not assumptions or pressure.

At CanHOPE Dhaka, we support patients and families in Bangladesh by helping them navigate these decisions with care, clarity, and access to trusted consultations at Parkway Cancer Centre.

Caregiving rarely looks dramatic.
It often means staying present and carrying on through long days and unfamiliar places.

For Mr. Iqbal, being present for his wife during her cancer treatment meant navigating exhaustion, distance from home, and moments of quiet weight. Along the way, he learned that strength did not always mean pushing through alone. Sometimes, it meant allowing support, accepting kindness, and recognising that vulnerability can be part of care.

His experience reminds us that caregiving is not only about endurance. It is also about connection, compassion, and the people who notice when the weight becomes heavy.

Cancer care often prioritises what can be measured and treated.
But some experiences are harder to quantify.

Intimacy and sexuality are recognised as part of quality of life, yet they are frequently overlooked in care conversations. When these topics remain unspoken, patients and partners may quietly carry questions, worries, or changes they do not know how to raise.

In these moments, communication matters. Not just as a way to find solutions, but as a form of care.

Talking openly can help ease uncertainty, strengthen understanding, and support connection in ways that go beyond treatment alone.
