শুক্রাণুর প্রাথমিক কাজ হল ডিম্বানুতে পুরুষের জেনেটিক উপাদান সরবরাহ করা, তাই ভ্রূণের বিকাশ এবং সফলতার জন্য সরবরাহকৃত ডিএনএর গুণগত মান অত্যন্ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।

স্ট্যান্ডার্ড বীর্য পরীক্ষা সাধারণত শুক্রাণুর গুণগত মান (যেমন সংখ্যা, গতিশীলতা, আকৃতি) সম্পর্কে তথ্য সরবরাহ করে, যা শুক্রাণুর ডিএনএ সম্পর্কে সরাসরি মূল্যায়ন করে না। শুক্রাণুর ডিএনএ গুনগত মান নির্ধারণের একটি উপায় হল DFI টেস্ট বা DNA Fragmentation Index টেস্ট। ইনফার্টিলিটি কেয়ার অ্যান্ড রিসার্চ সেন্টার (ICRC) এ নিয়মিত এই DFI টেস্ট করা হয়।

আমাদের IVF সেন্টারে আমরা S***m Chromatin Dispersion Assay (SCD) কৌশল ব্যবহার করে শুক্রাণুর DNA Fragmentation Index করি।

আমাদের সেন্টারে পরীক্ষাটি অভিজ্ঞ এম্ব্রায়োলজিস্ট এবং জেনেটিক ইঞ্জিনিয়ার দ্বারা পরিচালিত CASA সিস্টেম এর মাধ্যমে অটোমেটেড ক্যালকুলেশন হয়।
