2020 Theme: Recover Better - Stand Up for Human Rights

This year’s Human Rights Day theme relates to the COVID-19 pandemic and focuses on the need to build back better by ensuring Human Rights are central to recovery efforts. We will reach our common global goals only if we are able to create equal opportunities for all, address the failures exposed and exploited by COVID-19, and apply human rights standards to tackle entrenched, systematic, and intergenerational inequalities, exclusion and discrimination.

10 December is an opportunity to reaffirm the importance of human rights in re-building the world we want, the need for global solidarity as well as our interconnectedness and shared humanity.

Under UN Human Rights’ generic call to action “Stand Up for Human rights”, we aim to engage the general public, our partners and the UN family to bolster transformative action and showcase practical and inspirational examples that can contribute to recovering better and fostering more resilient and just societies.

টোকেন অব লাভ...

করোনা ভাইরাসের ভয়াল থাবার পুরো বিশ্ব পর্যদস্তু। থমেক আছে সকল কল কারাখানা। ফলে বিশ্বব্যাপী বৃদ্ধি পেয়েছে অসহায় মানুষের সংখ্যা। করোনা ভাইরাসে যাতে দেশব্যাপী ছড়িয়ে না পড়ে সেজন্য বাংলাদেশ সরকার নিয়েছে পর্যাপ্ত সতর্কতামুলক ব্যবস্থা।
দেশব্যাপী চলছে অঘোষিত লক ডাউন। গণপরিবহন, কারাখান, অফিস বন্ধ। ফলে সাধারণ মানুষ কর্ম হারিয়ে অসহায়ত্বের মধ্যে জীবনযাপন করছে। আজ রাজধানীর হাজারীবাগের বউবাজার এলাকায় এইরকম ১৫০ অসহায় পরিবারের মাঝে খাদ্য সমাগ্রী বিতরণ করে বেসরকারী সংগঠন হিউম্যান সেফটি ফাউন্ডেশন (এইচএসএফ)। খাদ্য সামগ্রীর মধ্যে ছিলো চাল, ডাল, আলু, পেঁয়াজ, পোলা্ওয়ের চাল, তেল, লবণ, সেমাই এবং দুধ। এসময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন এইচএসএফ’র চেয়ারম্যান এম এ মুকিত এবং কার্য‍ নির্বাহী পরিষদের অন্যান্য সদস্যরা। এসময় এইচএসএফ’র চেয়ারম্যান এম এ মুকিত বলেন, ”দেশের মানুষ করোনার বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করছে। এই যুদ্ধে আমরাই জয়ী হবো। তবে এই ক্রান্তিকালীন সময়ে অনেকে অসহায় অবস্থার মধ্যে আছে। এইসব অসহায় মানুষের সহায় হিসেবে উচ্চবিত্তদের উচিত এগিয়ে আসা। সামাজিক দায়বদ্ধতা থেকেই আজ এইসব অসহায় পরিবারের মাঝে খাদ্য সামগ্রী বিতরণ করা হলো। এর আগে বেশ কয়েকটি জেলায় অসহায় পরিবারের মাঝে খাদ্য সামগ্রী বিতরণ করা হয়েছে। ভবিষ্যতে এইচএসএফ’র এই কার্যক্রম অব্যাহত থাকবে“।

অত্যাবশ্যকীয় প্রয়োজন ছাড়া দয়া করে কেউ ঘর থেকে বের হবেন না। বের হতে হলে প্রয়োজনীয় প্রতিরোধমূলক ব্যবস্থা নিন। বেশি করে পুষ্টিকর খাবার গ্রহণ করুন, শরীরে রোগ প্রতিরোধ ক্ষমতা বৃদ্ধি করুন। পরিবারের বয়স্ক লোকদের প্রতি অধিক নজর রাখুন, কারণ তারাই বেশি ঝুঁকির মধ্যে আছেন।
করোনা ভাইরাসের লক্ষণ দেখা দিলে নিজে থেকে কোয়ারেন্টিন থাকুন। আইইডিসিআর এর দেয়া পরামর্শ মেনে চলুন।
নিজে সচেতন হই, অন্যকে সচেতন করি। আতঙ্কিত নয়, সচেতন হোন.

On 15th February, 2020, organised a session on SDGs and with the assistance of Youth Chamber in Boyra, Khulna, Bangladesh. In that session multi aged students from various institutions were present and we disseminate the information of 17 goals of SDGs and inspired them to act for SDGs and for the Planet.
