Dr Rie Roselyne Yotsa, MD. phd. from Japan who works in neglected tropical diseases in the US and has authored several articles in Buruli ulcer. Her article was the first reference in our article of Buruli ulcer
She happened to be in Kolkata and with the help of Dr Pritam Roy ( WHO coordinator) came to visit Dr Subhra Dhar in Wizdermpathlab.
She was very impressed with our set up and our case images of many of my tropical disease collections.

Chromomycosis is a dematiaceous fungus that causes cauliflower-like warts. Clinical forms include a plaque and papulo-nodular lesions. Phagedenic ulcers are rare. Dematiacious fungi are melanin-containing, pigmented moulds. Dematiaceous fungi are widespread in soil, plants, and organic debris. Melanin is virulent.

The cutaneous lichen planus pigmentosus (LPP) is an uncommon lichen planus (LP) variation. On the skin, it appears as oval and irregularly shaped brown to grey-brown macules and patches. Sun-exposed areas, such as the forehead, temples, and neck, are the most commonly affected. However, LP can develop in sun-protected areas such as the armpits, ge****ls, backrests, etc. Lichen planus is an inflammatory condition affecting skin, hair, nails, ge****ls, and mucous membranes.
