অনেক নির্মাণকাজে গ্রেড বীমকে অপ্রয়োজনীয় মনে করা হয়, শুধু খরচ বাঁচানোর জন্য। কিন্তু এই একটুখানি "বাঁচানো" ভবিষ্যতে বাড়িয়ে দেয় মারাত্মক ক্ষতির ঝুঁকি। দেয়ালের নিচে যদি সঠিকভাবে গ্রেড বীম না থাকে, তবে মাটির অসম সেটলমেন্টে দেয়ালে ফাটল ধরে, দরজা-জানালা আটকে যায়, এমনকি পুরো ভবন অস্থির হয়ে পড়ে। বিশেষ করে দুর্বল মাটিতে বা প্লাবনপ্রবণ এলাকায় গ্রেড বীম ছাড়া নির্মাণ করা মানেই ঝুঁকিকে আমন্ত্রণ জানানো।

সচেতন হোন — গ্রেড বীম ভবনের ভিত্তির শক্তি ও স্থায়িত্বের নিশ্চয়তা।
