Disability Management :-
Disability management refers to the process of helping people with disabilities to live independently, participate in work, education, and social life, and minimize the impact of disability.
It includes medical, social, educational, and vocational support
Objectives of Disability Management:-
- To reduce the effects of disability.
- To improve functional ability and independence.
- To promote social inclusion and participation.
- To support rehabilitation and employment.
- To provide counseling and community support.
Components of Disability Management:-
Medical rehabilitation: Treatment, therapy, assistive devices.
Educational rehabilitation: Special education, inclusive schooling.
Vocational rehabilitation: Job training, employment support.
Social rehabilitation: Community involvement, awareness, social support.
Psychological support: Counseling for person and family.
Disability Prevention:-
Disability prevention means taking actions to avoid or reduce the occurrence and impact of disabilities.
Role of Teachers, Family & Community:-
Teachers: Early identification, support learning needs.
Family: Encourage independence and emotional support.
Community: Create inclusive and accessible environments.
