Lycopodium clavatum
Characteristic Symptoms
Mind
Great self-confidence deficiency with intellectual pride.
Apprehensive, fearful, especially of appearing in public or of undertaking new things.
Irritable, domineering at home but timid abroad.
Child is cross before eating, becomes cheerful after eating.
Weak memory, forgets names and words while talking.
Desires power but lacks physical strength.
Head
Right-sided headaches → begin on right side, extend to left.
Headache from hunger, better after eating.
Premature greying of hair, baldness.
Head feels full and heavy after mental exertion.
Face
One-sided redness of face, usually right side.
Deep lines, wrinkled, prematurely old look.
Fan-like motion of alae nasi during breathing (especially in chest troubles).
Appetite and Stomach
Ravenous hunger, must eat frequently, but a few mouthfuls fill up.
Desire for sweets and warm food.
Aversion to cold drinks, oysters, coffee.
Flatulence, rumbling, fermentation in abdomen, especially upper abdomen.
Eating a little causes fullness and distress.
Belching relieves temporarily.
Constipation—stool hard, small, incomplete, with much flatulence.
Abdomen
Excessive flatulence, causing distension especially in lower abdomen.
Abdomen full of gas—feels as if it would burst.
Better passing flatus; much noisy rumbling.
Liver region painful and sensitive; worse from tight clothing.
One of the best remedies for chronic liver disorders.
Urinary & Sexual Organs
Urine slow to start, must wait long before it flows.
Frequent urge, but only a little passes.
Red sand (uric acid crystals) in urine; “red sediment.”
Impotence, lack of sexual desire, or premature emission.
In women—dry va**na, coition painful, me**es scanty.
Respiration & Chest
Fan-like motion of nostrils (also in pneumonia).
Dyspnea from flatulence, or after eating.
Cough worse from 4–8 p.m., or from talking.
Right-sided chest affections, extending leftward.
Extremities
Right-sided complaints, right → left progression.
Weakness of legs, trembling, worse ascending stairs.
Cold feet with burning soles, wants them uncovered.
Numbness or cramps in limbs at night.
Sleep
Unrefreshing; wakes weak and tired.
Sleep disturbed by many dreams; anxious, frightful.

Keynote Symptoms (Allen’s Keynotes)
1. Right-sided remedy: complaints begin right, go left.
2. Fan-like motion of alae nasi.
3. Great flatulence, especially upper abdomen.
4. Craves sweets; bloated after eating little.
5. Worse 4–8 p.m.
6. Red sand in urine.
7. Great weakness of digestion; fullness after few mouthfuls.
8. Intellectual superiority with moral weakness—pride with cowardice.
9. Emaciation above, bloating below (upper part thin, lower part swollen).
10. Child cross and irritable before eating; better after.
