আপনাদের সবার কাছে সাহায্যের আবেদন জানাচ্ছি,

আপনি যখন এই নোটটি পড়ছেন আমি তখন হাসপাতালের বেডে শুয়ে শুয়ে যাপিত জীবন যাপন করছি। আপনার জীবনে কি কখনো এমন সময় এসেছে যে, আপনার পূর্ণাঙ্গ অবসরে আছেন বেশ কিছুদিন? যদি এসে থাকে তবে আপনি নিশ্চয়ই জানেন এমন একটা দিন শুরু করার যন্ত্রণা যেদিন সতিকার অর্থে আপনার কোন নির্দিষ্ট কাজ থাকেনা। এটা হয়তো সবচেয়ে ভালো বুঝতে পারবে একজন বেকার, একজন অবসরপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা কিংবা একজন কয়েদী। হ্যাঁ! ঠিক ধরেছেন। আরকজন সবচেয়ে ভালো বুঝতে পারবে। সেটা হলো একজন মৃত্যু নিশ্চিত জেনে যাওয়া রোগী, যার দিন কাটছে হাসপাতালে ডাক্তার বেধে দেয়া সময় ফুরিয়ে না যাবার তীব্র আকাঙ্ক্ষায়। আমি সেই শেষোক্ত ব্যক্তিদের একজন।

আমার বয়স ১৭ বছর। আপনার বয়সও হয়তো এর কাছাকাছি, কিংবা আপনার ছোট ভাই বা আপনার ভাগিনা বা আপনার পুত্র। আমার বন্ধুরা হয়তো এখন তারুণ্যে টগবগ করে ফুটছে। আর আমি এক তরুণ বৃদ্ধ। ব্যাপারটা যে কি দুঃসহ তা কয়েকদিন আগে আমিও বুঝতাম না। কয়দিন? এইতো সেদিনও আমি কলেজে ভর্তি হয়ে জীবনকে বেশ উপভোগ্য মনে করছিলাম। মৃত্যু নামে যে একটা জিনিস আছে সেটা ভাবনার দূর সীমানাতেও আসেনি কোনদিন। অথচ কি আশ্চর্য! মাত্র কয়েকটা দিনের ব্যবধানে, কয়েকটা মেডিক্যাল রিপোর্টের লেখনীতে এখন আমার আর আমার মা’র প্রতিটা দিন কাটছে জীবন-মৃত্যুর পুলসিরাতে। আমার বোন ক্যান্সার ধরা পড়ে যেদিন সেদিন বুঝেছি খেয়ে হোক না খেয়ে হোক, বেঁচে থাকার আকুলতা কি জিনিস। বিশ্বাস করুন আমার এখন ইচ্ছা করে আমার প্রতিটা অংগ-প্রতঙ্গের বিনিময়ে হলেও আর ক’টা দিন বেশী বেঁচে থাকি, নিজের জন্য না হোক আমার মায়ের জন্য অন্ততঃ। আপনারা হয়তো কিছুটা হলেও আঁচ করতে পারবেন যে কতটা বেদনাদায়ক নিজের জীবনের জন্য, চিকিৎসার জন্য অন্যের কাছে হাত পাতা। আমার মায়ের ইচ্ছায় আমি আজ লিখছি।

আমি আপনাদের কাছে সাহায্য চাইছি। আল্লাহ আপনাদের মংগল করুন।

আমার অপারেশানের জন্য প্রায় ৩০ লক্ষ টাকার প্রয়োজন, সেটাও আবার ২৮ দিনের মত। টাকা এবং সময়সীমা দু'টোর অঙ্কই আঁতকে উঠার মত। দিনে প্রায় ১ লক্ষ টাকার চাইতেও বেশী।

কিন্তু অনেকের প্রচেষ্টায় সেটা হয়তো সামন্যে পরিণত হবে।

আপনাদের সামান্য কিছু ত্যাগের সামষ্টিক ব্যাপ্তি হয়তো আমাকে এবং আমার পরিবারকে আবার স্বাভাবিক জীবনে ফিরে যেতে সাহায্য করতে পারে।
