Bedwetting is one of the most common childhood problems, affecting nearly 19% of school-aged children. Most children gain control of their bladder by the age of 5, but for some, the condition continues into later childhood and even adolescence. Boys often take longer than girls to develop proper bladder control, and persistent bedwetting after age 6–7 can cause embarrassment, low self-esteem, and social difficulties at school. Bedwetting may be caused by difficulty waking up, an overactive bladder, or overproduction of urine during the night. While parents may think children will outgrow it, untreated bedwetting can have a lasting emotional and social impact. The good news is — bedwetting can be treated. With proper medical support and treatment, children can sleep peacefully, grow with confidence, and live without the burden of bedwetting.
