The North East Medical College Hospital (NEMCH) was founded in 1996 through the united efforts of the North East Medical Private Ltd company. The Hospital is a 600-bed patient-friendly, multi-specialty tertiary care Teaching Hospital. This is the best medical college hospital in Sylhet and one of the best in Bangladesh. The Medical College was established in 1998 and the Nursing Institute and College in 2007 and 2009, respectively. A team of skilled and experienced healthcare professionals provide education and patient centered care under the keen supervision of renowned specialists. The continuous progress and development since its inception have contributed to the hospital current status ranking as one of the best medical college hospital in Bangladesh. The College offers bachelor degrees in Medical and Nursing Science. The courses are certified by Shahjalal University of Science and Technology and recognized by the national regulatory agency, the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council. Today, the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at North East Medical College & Hospital hosted an insightful Continuing Medical Education (CME) session focused on one of the most pressing challenges in women’s health: Endometriosis and the Treatment of Infertility.
With global statistics showing that 30–50% of women with endometriosis face infertility, timely diagnosis and precise staging are more critical than ever. Addressing the 9–11 year average delay in diagnosis is our priority for 2026.

* Staging vs. Prognosis: Understanding the transition from rASRM surgical staging to the Endometriosis Fertility Index (EFI) to better predict spontaneous pregnancy.
