গত ২৪ সেপ্টেম্বর "জীবন" এর আয়োজনে সকল সদস্যদের নিয়ে একটি রিফ্রেশমেন্ট ট্যূরের আয়োজন করা হয়।বিশাল পরিসরে তিনটি বাসে প্রায় শতাধিক জীবনিয়ানদের উপস্থিতিতে শ্রীমঙ্গলের মাধবপুর লেক ঘুরে আসা হয়।
জীবনিয়ানদের উৎসাহ প্রদানে সেখানে লাঞ্চ,খেলাধুলা,রেফেল ড্র সহ বিভিন্ন বিনোদনমূলক ইভেন্টের আয়োজন করা হয়।দিনের শুরুতেই নইমেক প্রাঙ্গনে কলেজের সম্মানিত গভর্নিং বডির চেয়ারম্যান ও নর্থ ইস্ট মেডিকেল প্রাঃ লিমিটেডের ম্যানেজিং ডিরেক্টর অধ্যাপক ডা.শাহরিয়ার হোসেন চৌধুরী,অধ্যক্ষ অধ্যাপক ডা.নাজমুল ইসলাম, হসপিটাল ডিরেক্টর অধ্যাপক ডা.জসিম উদ্দিন,ডিরেক্টর আবু আহমেদ সিদ্দিক, এসিস্ট্যান্ট ডিরেক্টর ডা.মুনতাসীর আলম রাহিমি, ডা.ফাহমিদুর রহমান সহ সেখানে জীবন এর উপদেষ্টা ডা.আলাল খান অয়ন, ডা.নাজমুল হাসান মুন্না,ডা.আফতাব উদ্দিন চৌধুরীসহ বর্তমান দ্বায়িত্বশীল বৃন্দ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

🌍✨ Scientific Seminar at North East Medical College Hospital ✨🌍

আজ দুপুরে নর্থ ইস্ট মেডিকেল কলেজ হাসপাতালে অনুষ্ঠিত হলো একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ Scientific Seminar, World Health Organization (WHO)-এর সহযোগিতায়।

🔹 আলোচনায় বিশেষভাবে তুলে ধরা হয় Government’s Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI), যা DGHS-এর অধীনে পরিচালিত হচ্ছে। এই প্রোগ্রামের মাধ্যমে ১ বছরের নিচে শিশুদের Polio নির্মূলের জন্য টিকাদান কার্যক্রম চলমান রয়েছে।

🔹 WHO আরও সহযোগিতা করছে DGHS–EPI-কে, AFP (Acute Flaccid Paralysis) শনাক্তকরণে, যাতে Healthcare facilities থেকে দ্রুত রোগী চিহ্নিত করা যায়।

🔹 Pediatrics ও Medicine Department-এর Doctors ও Nurses দের জন্য ইতোমধ্যেই অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছে AFP & Vaccine Preventable Disease Surveillance Training।

🔹 সেমিনারে বিশেষভাবে গুরুত্ব দেওয়া হয় Reporting of infectious diseases-এর উপর, বিশেষ করে যেগুলো EPI Schedule of Bangladesh-এর অন্তর্ভুক্ত।

North East Medical College and Hospital is excited to announce the launch of the “Practical AI for Medical Professionals” course, designed to equip doctors, faculty, and healthcare staff with essential AI skills with no technical background requirement.

📚 Course Title: Practical AI for Medical Professionals
⏱ Duration: 5 Sessions
💡 Course Overview: This hands-on course focuses on integrating AI into daily medical tasks, research, and clinical decision-making. Participants will explore tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity for practical applications such as summarizing documents, translating medical texts, sentiment analysis, and spell-checking and many more.

Seminar on Cell and Gene Therapy

A seminar on Cell and Gene Therapy was held today at the Conference Hall of North East Medical College Hospital. The session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Shahriar Hossain Chowdhury, Chairman Governing Body of North East Medical Private Limited, with the presence of Prof. Dr. Md. Nazmul Islam, Principal of North East Medical College, Prof. Dr. AFM Nazmul Islam Vice Principal of North East Medical College and all respected heads of departments along with the faculties.

The discussion highlighted how cell therapy, gene therapy, and regenerative medicine are reshaping modern healthcare. While conventional treatments often control disease without offering a cure, advanced therapies like CAR-T cell therapy for cancer, gene editing therapies for thalassemia and hemophilia, and stem cell therapy for cardiovascular and neurological disorders are showing long-term, sometimes curative, outcomes.

Special emphasis was given to China’s success model, where a coordinated approach involving national policy, research institutions, advanced laboratories, and industry has led to groundbreaking achievements. Notable milestones include:

Approval of 19 IND clinical trials (2018–2024).

Launch of the first CAR-T cell product (CNCT19) for leukemia (2023).

Approval of gene therapy for hemophilia, with treatment given to over 100 patients.

CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing showing sustained remission in β-thalassemia patients for more than four years.

Provision of specialized hematology care to nearly 300,000 patients annually.

The seminar underscored that integrated planning between government, research, and industry can drive revolutionary progress in medicine, offering new hope for patients suffering from cancer, genetic, and degenerative diseases.
Establishing a Cellular and Gene Therapy Center at NEMCH is a significant investment that requires careful planning and ex*****on. By following the outlined steps and budgeting appropriately, the center can become a leading institution in advanced therapeutic treatments, benefiting both patients and the broader medical community.
