Dr. Salahuddin Mahmud completed MBBS from Mymensingh Medical College under Dhaka University (DU) in 2000. In 2010, he completed his MD (Pediatrics) from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka. He presented his thesis work regarding “Hepatitis A virus in Children” in Melbourne Convention Centre, Australia in 2011. In 2013 and 2014, he received specialized training in Pediatric Endoscopy from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Dhaka, Bangladesh and Apollo hospital, New Delhi, India. Beside these, he also completed e-post graduate program in Pediatric Nutrition from Boston University, USA in the same time. He received fellow training in Gastro-Liver unit from Birmingham Children Hospital, UK. He also received specialized training in basic and advanced Pediatric Endoscopy from Sheffield Endoscopy Summer School, Sheffield, UK in the same year. In 2016, enlightened the carrier with fellow training under the department of Pediatric Gastroenterology from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow, India. Recently, he increased his skill in advanced and therapeutic endoscopy from Thai Training and Education Centre (T-TEC), Olympus, Bangkok, Thailand. Besides being an expert pediatrician and pediatric gastroenterologist, Dr. Mahmud has a strong affinity in research. He has published various scientific papers both in International & National Journals, especially in Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He strongly believes in passing the skills he has acquired to the young and aspiring pediatricians. Dr. Mahmud held different important position in various National & International organizations of Pediatric Gastroenterology. He is the International Affairs Secretary of Bangladesh Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology & Nutrition (BASPGAN). Honorable foreign member of Indian Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition (ISPGHAN), Asian Pan-Pacific Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition (APPSPGHAN) and North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition (NASPGHAN). Now he is working as an Associate Professor, in the Department of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition, Dhaka Shishu (Children) Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
