Some days the mat feels light.
Some days it feels heavy before you even unroll it.

And still, you come.
Or at least… something in you remembers that you could.

Practice isn’t about perfect days or strong bodies.
It’s about returning.
Again and again.
To the same breath.
The same movements.
The same discipline of showing up.

In a Mysore room, nothing is rushed.
No one is pushed.
You meet yourself exactly where you are,
with guidance, with patience, with time.

Progress here is subtle.
Often invisible.
Until one day you notice how you stand a little steadier in your life,
how your breath meets you sooner,
how you respond instead of react.

This is not about doing more.
It’s about staying with what is.
Letting the practice shape you, slowly.

If something in you feels tired, scattered, or longing
that might not be a sign to stop.
It might be a reminder to return.

The shala is still here.
The practice too.
Waiting, without urgency.

Tomorrow morning we practice, even when the week feels full. 😁 On Friday it’s moon day, so we rest.
Two days of rest, and then we come together again for Led class on Sunday. 🤩

The weekly Led class is an anchor in our Mysore practice.
It brings us back to rhythm, shared breath, and the steady count; a moment to realign and let the practice carry us, together.

Honoring the lineage by remembering Sharath Jois 🤍
One year after his passing, we gather in reverence for a teacher who carried the flame of Ashtanga Yoga with rare devotion.

On Tuesday, November 11 at 13:00, AntwerpYoga will host a traditional pūja led by Brahmin priest Harinath Sharma to honor the life and legacy of Sharath Jois; teacher of teachers, grandson of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, and a light for countless practitioners around the world.

You are warmly invited to sit in silence, listen to mantras, and simply witness.
No need to know what to do so just come as you are, with an open heart.

If you wish, you may bring a small offering of fruit or flowers as a gesture of gratitude.
Children are welcome.

July 31 - September 5 we’re honoured to welcome Balveer Saran to AntwerpYoga for a month of Mysore-style Ashtanga practice.

With a strong and dedicated personal practice spanning over a decade, Balveer has been training regularly with the late Shri Sharath Jois since 2019. In 2023, he received authorization to teach the Primary and Intermediate Series. His teaching is rooted in the discipline of daily practice and deeply informed by his Vipassana meditation experience.

Based in Amman, Jordan, Balveer offers classes, workshops, and retreats that reflect his grounded, mindful approach to yoga as a path of self-inquiry.

Join the Mysore program to practice with a teacher who brings clarity, commitment, and calm presence to the Mysore room.

*Every Sunday, Balveer will guide us in meditation at 7:00, before the led primary class.*

All levels are welcome, also absolute beginners 🌺
Just book your class as usual via the schedule.

Today we bow in deep reverence to the guiding lights on our path; the gurus who illuminate the way from darkness to truth, from confusion to clarity, from self to Self.

On this Guru Purnima, we honor not only our living teachers, but also those who have passed, leaving behind a legacy of practice, discipline, and devotion.

The Ashtanga lineage bows its head a little lower this year, with the recent passing of our beloved Paramaguru . Though he is no longer with us in form, his teachings echo in every breath, every vinyasa, every moment of presence on the mat.

Guru Purnima is not a day of sorrow, but of gratitude. It is a celebration of the timeless transmission that continues to flow, from teacher to student, heart to heart.

May we walk this path with humility.
May we practice with sincerity.
May we live in the light of all those who have shown us the way.

Lokāḥ Samastāḥ Sukhino Bhavantu
May all beings everywhere free.
May all beings be happy.
May all teachers be honored.
May the light of wisdom guide us always.
