| Letting go is so simple yet often SO frustrating 😩 |

There are days, even weeks, when it feels like you're in a constant struggle.
It's like you're fighting against something.
like you're fighting yourself.

And you know, you KNOW you're doing it, yet you can't seem to be able to not do it.
And that is SO frustrating.
Your whole system, everything inside you is pushing you to push harder. To fight harder.

It's exhausting.
It makes you want to cry, to scream!
And still, every bone in your body is telling you there's no real alternative.
'There's only struggling, that's all there is’

And when does it finally, FINALLY end?
When you're so exhausted that you actually can't fight anymore.

Wouldn't it be such an enormous relief, not having to go through this whole battle in order to end up relieved?
Letting go is so simple, yet often SO frustrating

We all talk about "'the mind & the body are one and the same".
And on an intellectual level, most of us kinda agree. "Oh, yeah, of COURSE they're one!"
And then life takes over, and we forget to live as if it were true ...

This weekly class is a wonderful, deeply satisfying way to experience this. To get to know your as it is.

75 minutes where you explicitly DON'T have to challenge yourself.
Where you DON'T have to push yourself.
75 minutes to give your nervous system time, space and permission to reset itself. To calm down. To slow down.
To let the mind & the body remember what it's like to be at rest, at peace.

As this class needs a lot of space for each person, and in order to provide COVID-19 safety, we deliberately limit the number of participants. So be sure to register at dropinmeditation.com/schedule/ if you want to be certain of your spot.

So, I’ve been teaching semi-private Restorative Yoga classes, every Monday evening, for about 2-3 months now.
Lately, the classes have been evolving, going deeper.
That’s what happens when the same people keep returning, week after week.

This evening’s class was, for me, a meditation.
Literally.
I don’t necessarily have to sit in full lotus, with an erect, straight spine, eyes closed and mind empty, in order to be meditating.
The teaching itself, the moving around the class, talking and guiding, envisioning their experience and trying to feel what they’re experiencing, adjusting and bringing more comfort, all these became a meditation.
A flow.
An experience of being fully present.

Not “present” as in, totally focused.
Rather, “present”, in the sense of being attuned to the participants’ experience.
Of being and feeling open, sensitive, loving, deeply caring for each and every one of those wonderful people who entrust their body, their vulnerability, to me. To a guy.

It deeply touched me. For once I really experienced self-compassion, self-love, simply by being caring and compassionate towards them.

I generally avoid using these popular terms, “grateful”, full of love”, ...
Right now, I am filled with gratitude.
Towards the people who come to attend my classes.
Towards my teachers.
Towards my mom, who directed my attention to the existence of this path.
To reality.

It’s yoga that needs to be flexible, not students. “I don’t ever presume a student should go farther or deeper into an asana physically,” says McGonigal. “I want students to have a deep experience of the pose. I want to invite their full attention into a pose. I want to lure them back into that experience of ‘nothing wrong’ that can be experienced in a pose. You can’t measure that with inches gained in a forward bend or seconds added to a free-standing inversion.”

How do you know when you should push your students to work harder and when to back off?
