American - for documentary

Well another successful online event thanks for the American Club of Antwerp! This time it was the Beer Tasting event done by tastethecity.be and their own Erwin Liekens. Definitely look him and tastethecity up for your Belgian beer tour experiences! Excellent overview of 5 amazing Belgian Trappist beers. Great turn out with many countries represented; US, Belgium, Venezuela to name a few! So come and join us for our next event! Stay tuned and remember, all are welcome!!

Hi Everyone and American Club members and friends!

We have a very exciting event for everyone this month as we will be holding a virtual beer tasting! The beer tasting will be led by Erwin Liekens from Tastethecity.be. He normally performs beer tours around Antwerp, but due to the current measures he has been holding onling beer tastings instead.

For our tasting, we have selected a Trappist theme. The trappist beers included in the tasting will be:

Westmalle tripel
Rochefort 8
Blue label Chimay
Orval
Rochefort Tripel (optional selection - it's a brand new beer that's only been on the market for a few months)
For this event, you can select one of two payment options:

Option 1: 17 euros - We will prepare and deliver a special beer package to you. This will include the first four beers on the above list.

Option 2: 10 euros - No beer package, so you will then purchase the beers yourself (these are normally available at most grocery stores). This amount is to cover the cost of our speaker.

You can indicate which option when you respond. Payments can be made to the American Club Antwerp bank account: BE94 7755 9770 3614. Please mention "virtual beer tasting" in the memo field.

Zoom link will be shared before Saturday, March 27 at 7:00pm. We hope to see each of you there!

Hi everyone! We hope that each of you had a great holiday and happy new year! Recent events aside, we hope the rest of the new year brings much love and happiness to you and your family!

We would like to invite you to a virtual gift exchange (yankee swap / white elephant - however you want to call it). The idea is that you find something around your house (or you can buy something inexpensive - 10 euros or less), wrap it up and take a picture of the wrapped present. During the call, you will unwrap the present when it is selected. The detailed rules will be explained on the call, but please send the picture of your present to our ACA email address (americanclubofantwerp@gmail.com) so that we can match the presents to each person during the call.

Despite all the rules and regulations we are all dealing with in 2020, the American Club of Antwerp still had a fun virtual Thanksgiving celebration that was full of toasts, stories of the first thanksgiving, lots of trivia, calls from club members all over including direct from the US, laughter and tons of happy faces. So we can all be thankful for the family and friends from all across the globe and of course our health! Cheers to that! 🥂 it was a great night! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! 🦃 🍷
