People living with a chronic illness must ration their daily stock of spoons to get through the day and not all of us have an infinite number of spoons to get through the day. During the Gala Dinner our guests received a gift, an individually designed spoon, to remind you that everyone around is and experiencing life differently. Laurence Lanfumey Mongredien is the Emeritus Research Director at Inserm at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurosciences of Paris (IPNP), France. She has dedicated her professional activity to regulating phenotypes associated with psychiatric pathologies, mainly post-traumatic stress, anxiety-depressive disorders, and addiction 🇫🇷.

Micaela Morelli is the past elected President of the Società Italiana di Neuroscienze - Italian Society for Neuroscience - SINS and Vice-Rector for Research at the University of Cagliari. She is part of the higher education committee (CHET) of the Federation of European Neuroscience Societies (FENS) 🇮🇹.

Matt Muijen is an international mental health policy adviser, formerly the Regional Adviser for Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities at the WHO Regional Office for Europe. He is active as a consultant to WHO and is also a Board Member and chair of the research committee of GAMIAN-Europe and trustee of The Sporting Chance in the UK 🇳🇱.

Christian Suojanen is the Founder & CEO of Broadreach Global, a boutique strategy, business and innovation advisor in the biotech, health, and pharma sectors. With 24 years of strategic advisory, innovation, business and operational experience, he advises start-ups, growth companies, investors, governments, university networks, and health systems 🇺🇸.

Manfred Westphal is the Director of the Department of Neurosurgery for the Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf - UKE in Hamburg, Germany. He specializes in neuro-oncology and neurovascular diseases and has published over 230 Medline-listed publications and 50 book chapters 🇩🇪.

Without any doubt, the young generation has gone and will continue to go through various societal challenges, given constant digitalisation and the COVID-19 pandemic, to name just two. It is more demanding than ever for our to maintain healthy brains 🧠.

As EBF’s mission and goal is to serve society and support those affected by brain disorders, it is of great importance to make sure that children, teenagers, and adolescents are provided with the best tools and care to protect their brain health. Claudio Bassetti is Full Professor and Chair of the Department at Bern University Hospital and Dean of Medicine at University of Bern in 🇨🇭.

Christina Dalla is Associate Professor of at National & Kapodistrian University of Athens Medical School, and Founding Member of the Hellenic Brain Council 🇬🇷.

Philip GORWOOD is a psychiatrist specialised in addictive and eating . He leads a department at Sainte-Anne hospital in Paris and heads the research team devoted to behavioural genetics at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurosciences 🇫🇷.

Lieven Lagae is Full Professor and Head of Neurology Department at the UZ Leuven. He is also the past President of the Paediatric Neurology Society (EPNS) 🇧🇪.

The EBF is proud to rely on such diverse expertise from its Board, with their intersectoral backgrounds ensuring a variety of EBF activities in the future.

Prof. Patrice Boyer is Chair of the EBF, immediate past Vice-President of the European Brain Council (EBC) and a past President of the European Psychiatric Association - EPA. With the EBF he wishes to create an active interface between the top research teams in , potential donors and all stakeholders involved in the field.

Audrey Craven is Vice-Chair of the EBF, Founder and President of the Migraine Ireland (MAI) and an internationally acknowledged patient advocate for migraine. By being part of the EBF, she would like to highlight the importance of the in all aspects of life. 🧠 In her words, “The future belongs to those who give the next generation hope!”
