Did you know we humans benefit from a ligament way up at the back of our neck that no other ape, even chimp has. It’s called the nuchal ligament, and it has just one job: to hold the head steady while running!

Did you know your diet could influence more than just your waistline?

The rise of ultra-processed foods is not only affecting our health but even the shape of our jaws! Softer, easy-to-chew foods mean less work for our jaw muscles, potentially leading to narrower jaws and crowded teeth.

This is a reminder of how interconnected our habits are with our overall health. Prioritising whole, natural foods isn’t just about fitness—it’s about supporting your body in every way.

Let’s focus on strength, health, and balance—inside and out. 💪🍎

Study has linked a soft and liquid diet to smaller jaw size in children, but others say evolution is more likely the cause

✨ Meet Our New Trainer: Francesca ✨

We’re thrilled to introduce Francesca, the newest addition to our team at Paul Tucker Personal Training! With a lifelong passion for sports and movement, Francesca brings a wealth of experience and dedication to helping others achieve their fitness goals.

Francesca’s journey began with tennis, where she developed a love for discipline and strategy. This passion evolved into a focus on athletics and track, where speed and precision became key elements of her training. Ultimately, Francesca found her calling in endurance sports, especially trail running, embracing the resilience and mental fortitude they demand.

For Francesca, fitness isn’t just about physical activity—it’s a path to personal growth, confidence, and connection. Her vision of personal training is simple yet powerful: to inspire and empower everyone to embrace movement, build strength, and find joy in an active lifestyle.

Please join us in welcoming Francesca to our team! We can’t wait for you to meet her and experience the energy, knowledge, and passion she brings to every session.

Is Exercise in Your DNA? 🧬💪

Did you know your genes might be influencing your fitness habits? A fascinating study of over 37,000 twin pairs found that 62% of the variation in physical activity levels is linked to genetic differences! 🌟

Research also shows that your genes can impact:
✅ Whether you enjoy the feeling of exercise
✅ How likely you are to stick to a workout routine
✅ How much your mood improves after exercising

Here’s the good news: your genes don’t define your potential! With effort and consistency, you can rewire your brain and build new habits. It’s not as easy as when we were kids, but it’s absolutely possible.

Take the first step today—your future self will thank you. 💪

Hey everyone! So… what did you do this weekend? Because our trainers went a little overboard. Robin tackled the Lago Maggiore Marathon, Pedro took on the Brussels Half Marathon, and Rodrigue breezed through the Brussels 7k! 🏃‍♂️💪 We might need a rest day (or two)! Tell us your weekend wins below, especially if they involved a lot more couch and a lot less cardio 😜

Yesterday , we hit the streets for a marathon !Our team of 6—trainers Rodrigue, Robin, Greg, Jorge, Pedro, and our superstar client Paul—gave it everything we had! 💪🔥

Out of 1,000 teams, we crossed the finish line as the 52nd fastest squad! 🎉 Not too bad right? It was all about teamwork, determination, and a little friendly competition along the way. 😉

Big shoutout to Paul for stepping up and showing everyone how it's done—you're officially one of the crew now! 🙌 And of course, Greg who participated in his first race ever!

Did you know that if a mouse becomes infected by a microbe called Toxoplasma Gondii it loses its fears of cats. And unfortunately for the mouse, it usually ends up as dinner for the cat. The reason this happens is that Toxoplasma Gondii can only replicate inside a cat and therefore it changes the mouse’s behaviour in order to reach its final destination. This fascinating fact demonstrates that tiny microbes can affect how mammals think and behave!
The microbes that live inside your intestine (100 trillion ) may also act as a second brain and affect how we humans feel, think and behave, and your diet may play a role in this process. For example: serotonin, nature’s antidepressant, is made 90% in your gut and only 10 % in your brain ! 😱

There have been lots of different studies showing that eating more fruits and vegetables is associated with a lower risk of diseases like heart disease and cancer. But a recent study from the Imperial College London said that people who ate 10 portions (800g) of fruits and vegetables a day had 28% lower risk of heart disease, a 33% lower risk of stroke, a 13% reduced risk of cancer and a 31% reduction in dying prematurely! Powerful stuff!

But that’s not even the most interesting thing about this study. The most amazing thing was that the biggest benefits are seen at the lower intakes of fruits and vegetables. What this means is someone who eats 1 portion of fruit and veg per day and increases that to five will see a bigger reduction in disease than someone who goes from 5 to 8!! So try your best and eats lots of fruit and vegetables!
