In the early years of my career, I navigated the fast-paced world of corporate towers and the vibrant newsroom of Belgium's leading newspaper as a photo editor. Despite the adrenaline rush of meeting deadlines and the constant buzz, I reached a point where stress overshadowed fulfillment, my body rebelled and I burned out. Standing at a crossroads, I realized it was time for a change. With courage
as my compass, I embraced the unknown, trading the comfort of stability for the exhilarating uncertainty of chasing my passion, creating my own creative projects, in alignment with my own values and true self. And so, I embarked on a journey where my camera became a vehicle to empower others. Focusing on the daily lives of street children and families living in difficult circumstances in Nicaragua, I found inspiring stories of resilient individuals living true to themselves. It was this inspiration that led me to found “Heroes”: Love, Faith, and Courage, an organization dedicated to providing educational opportunities for street children in Nicaragua. In my work and travels around the globe, I have captured moments that range from the serene beauty of home births in a small apartment in Brooklyn, NY, to the timeless wisdom of ancient cultures in distant lands. Each experience has deepened my understanding of life's intimate and universal aspects. At the school of Art and Design at Alfred University, New-York, where I integrated new media, sound and printmaking to my practice, I received a Master’s degree in Fine Arts. In each frame, I discovered not just images, but fragments of truth and echoes of beauty that resonated deep within. As an interdisciplinary artist, my work received numerous awards, has been published internationally and I participated in solo and group exhibitions in Belgium, Italy, China, Colombia, United Kingdom and the United States. Yet, beyond the artistry of photography, I uncovered a deeper truth – that creation extends far beyond the tangible, into the realms of self-discovery and growth. Through introspection and guided exploration, I embraced my emotions as guides, leading me towards a richer understanding of myself and the world around me. Using my camera, I discovered that while observing the outer world, the dewdrop reflects both my inner and outer worlds simultaneously. This revelation inspired me to transform the image I had of myself through reflection and self-care. Today, with a Bachelor's degree in Communication and Photography, a Master's degree in Arts, numerous training programs, as a certified coach, and mindfulness practitioner, I am dedicated to guiding and empowering others on their journey of transformation. In my unique approach, I combine the transformative power of photography with the empowering force of coaching to guide others toward a life rich in authenticity and fulfillment. But for me, true success is not merely measured in accolades or achievements, but in the unwavering commitment to living a life aligned with one's deepest truths. True success lies in the courage to be authentically oneself.
