Appel à projets : Communautés d’énergie (quasi-) transfrontalières

La Commission européenne lance un appel à projets pour soutenir le développement de sept initiatives pilotes de communautés d’énergie (quasi-) transfrontalières. L’appel est coordonné par la MOT et l’AEBR, pour le compte de la DG REGIO.

Chaque projet sélectionné bénéficiera d’une assistance technique par REScoop.eu et pourra solliciter jusqu’à 15 000 € de financement.

Call open: (Quasi-) Cross-border Energy Communities

The European Commission has launched a new call for pilot projects to support the development of (quasi-) cross-border energy communities.

Coordinated by MOT and AEBR for DG REGIO, the call will select seven pilot sites, each eligible for technical assistance and up to €15,000 in funding.

📢 The third edition of the Cross-Border Ambassadors initiative is now open for applications.

Launched by DG REGIO through the Border Focal Point Network, the programme empowers young people from to engage in EU-level dialogue on cross-border cooperation.

📊 Why do most SMEs still stay local?

The latest Eurobarometer report reveals that 70% of EU SMEs operate only domestically, and just 26% export across EU borders.

For SMEs in border regions, this is a missed opportunity — but not without reason. Complex rules, lack of accessible information, and tax or authorisation issues continue to block cross-border growth.

These findings echo long-standing challenges flagged by the Border Focal Point Network and highlight the need for better tools and coordination — including initiatives like BRIDGEforEU

What’s Next for BRIDGEforEU?

At the 23rd Beyond Borders Breakfast Debate, over 275 participants came together to discuss the rollout of the BRIDGEforEU Regulation - a new legal tool designed to help address persistent obstacles in

Sandro Gozi, MEP and Rapporteur of the Regulation, captured one of the debate’s core messages:
“This regulation is the product of strong political commitment of the European Parliament – and it requires strong political commitment now in the implementation at national level.”

The discussion made it clear: while the legal framework is now in place, Member States must take the lead — by activating coordination points, ensuring follow-up, and allocating the resources needed to make the Regulation work.

🔥 Interreg 🇪🇺 is Strengthening Wildfire Resilience Across Borders! 🔥🌍

On 19–20 June 2025, partners from Türkiye 🇹🇷 , Bulgaria 🇧🇬 , Moldova 🇲🇩 , and Ukraine 🇺🇦 came together in Istanbul for an international conference under the Co-Resilience project, co-financed by the EU through the Black Sea Basin Programme.

The event, titled “Innovative Technologies and Methods for the Prevention, Mitigation, and Monitoring of Wildfires Linked to Climate Change,” brought together local and national authorities, civil society, and emergency response experts to exchange knowledge, showcased new technologies, and reinforced transnational cooperation.

👥 Hosted by the Istanbul Regional Directorate of Forestry, the conference demonstrated how meaningful and EU Cohesion Policy support makes a difference on the ground — helping communities prepare, adapt, and protect their future.
