In Italian tradition, family is very important 👨‍👨‍👧

That's why we are hosting our conference with Fondazione Paideia in Turin. They have spent over 30 years prioritising support to children with disabilities and their families.

Fondazione Paideia values the role of each family member in providing care to a family member with a disability.

At their centre, they tailor services according to the individual needs of people with disabilities and their families.

Too often the work of parents, siblings, and extended family of people with disabilities is overlooked. They take on the role of informal carers due to lack of support, funding and guidance.

EASPD and Fondazione Paideia will explore how disability services can support families and people with disabilities to enjoy a community life. Join us at our conference, 'Empowering families, enabling self-determination: rethinking support services at every life stage'.

We will see how disability support services can:
🔺 Adapt to evolving support needs
🔺 Strengthen collaboration with families
🔺 Enable community participation

After 2 years, the DDS Map project has come to an end!

Meeting in Brussels, the partners discussed their final reflections on the project results. They highlighted the need for non healthcare workers to be more involved in digital upskilling.

And to make sure that lifelong learning is a possibility for health care and allied professionals including social workers. The DDS Map online course on digital skills is one step in this direction

🗞️ | This week, we give the floor to our newly elected Co-Chair of the Member Forum on Arts, Culture and Sport. She looks back on a big moment from our Gandía conference, where the Forum officially decided to include sport and leisure in its work. Both areas are essential for inclusion and wellbeing, and we’re excited for new conversations to start. More:
