Last week, we swapped desks for aprons and tried our hand at pottery! 🎨

As part of this year’s EASPD Team Day, we got hands-on at a pottery workshop for a mix of creativity and just the right amount of friendly competition.

It was a lovely reminder that teamwork is also about sharing moments, laughing together, and building memories that last.

Huge thanks to the organisers for a wonderful day! 💗

At EASPD, we believe the future of long-term care (LTC) must be built on high-quality, person-centred support. But change isn’t always easy. Moving towards new models of care means many staff need additional training to gain the right skills and confidence.

That’s where Care4Skills comes in! ✨ The free Care4Skills online training course introduces LTC professionals to the foundations of person-centred care, helping them grow their knowledge and improve daily practice.

The AutismFit Project aims to promote the physical and mental well-being of young persons with autism through Virtual Reality and gamified learning.

💡 But why use VR?
Because it provides a safe, controlled space to practice real-life situations. This predictable and repeatable exposure can help reduce anxiety, strengthen skills, and boost confidence.

🎓 The University of Florida is among the institutions advancing the use of assistive technologies to better support people with autism. Their video shares first-hand insights from people with autism and their supporters on the benefits of VR.

We are excited to launch the Empowering Families campaign🎉

Inspired by our Turin Conference, this campaign is a collection of stories reflecting the importance of professional support for family members of people with disabilities.

🗓️Each week, we will publish a new story that helps us understand the different facets of family support.

😍 Thank you Inge Volleberg for being our very first story! She takes us behind the scenes by sharing what life was like growing up with her sister, Esther who has Down Syndrome.

Her personal account focusses on giving support to siblings and recognising them as family members too!

Right before slowing down for the summer, EASPD hosted the Be Inclusive! closing event in Brussels.

We kicked off the event by screening a short film called CRIPS. The movie was created by people with disabilities showcasing their experience of travelling around Hungary.

Shortly after the movie, we shared the Be Inclusive project results that support employment of people with disabilities.

The project was a reminder of the importance of inclusion in the open labour market.

Read through some of the project results:

We see enthusiasm from many companies to hire people with disabilities 🙌

But once the hiring is done, employers have to make sure the working environment is inclusive for people with disabilities

To help you navigate through this, the Be inclusive! project launched a video explaining how employers can create an inclsuive work culture.

In fact, the project has launched a series of videos addressing topics like recruitment, advantages of hiring people with disabilities and much more!
