NovoRun 2026 – Une première édition réussie à Theux !

Ce 29 mars 2026, à La Reid (Theux), s’est tenue la première édition de la NovoRun, une initiative sportive et solidaire qui s’inscrit dans le cadre des relations d’amitié entre Theux (Belgique) et Novoïavorivsk (Ukraine), officialisées par la signature d’une charte en 2025.

Cette première édition, désormais intégrée au challenge La Meuse, a rassemblé de nombreux participants :

🙌 Une centaine de coureurs au trail de 20 km, avec notamment la présence de Kateryna Bilotil de Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Belgium
🙌 Près de 200 participants au jogging de 8 km
🙌 De nombreux marcheurs venus également parcourir les différents circuits

🟢 Les départs ont été donnés par Igor Chocholak, président du TUB, marquant le lancement de cette belle journée sportive.

Au-delà de la performance, c’est surtout l’esprit de solidarité qui a marqué cette initiative : les fonds récoltés par le groupe de bénévoles à l’origine du NovoRun seront consacrés à répondre à des besoins concrets identifiés par la ville de Novoïavorivsk.

🙏 Un grand merci à Alain Foguenne et toute l’équipe pour l’organisation, aux bénévoles et aux participants pour cette mobilisation exemplaire !

Four years ago, Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

Since then, the war has altered more than borders. It has reordered priorities, exposed illusions, and forced Europe to confront the cost of complacency. What is being defended in Ukraine is not an abstraction and not a slogan. It is the principle that power does not grant entitlement to erase a nation; that sovereignty is not negotiable; that international law is not just words on paper.

Behind these principles are people. Those who serve in uniform and hold the line under conditions most of us will never experience. Those who volunteer, rebuild, evacuate, document, and heal. Those who endure occupation, displacement, captivity, torture and loss. Their resilience is not a metaphor; it is the way they live, day after day, at constant personal risk.

They deserve not only recognition, but sustained, practical support. And the victims of this war — the families torn apart, the civilians killed, the communities destroyed — deserve more than statistics. They deserve justice and remembrance.
In Brussels, decisions are shaped within institutions, procedures, and policy frameworks. In Ukraine, the same issues are confronted under air-raid sirens and amid destroyed homes.

Four years on, this is no longer about emergency solidarity. It is about structural decisions — on security guarantees, accountability for crimes, reconstruction, and the kind of continent Europe intends to be.

Ukraine is not just a “front line” on Europe’s periphery. It is a measure of whether Europe is prepared to act on its own principles.

The war continues. So does the obligation to act with clarity, consistency, courage and resolve.
