An ode to, and a favourite list of, Seoul cafes. Disclaimer, I have not visited them all, but my sources are solid. Continued in comments !
Some facts:
- The n1 coffee order is an iced americano.
- The best places will have you choose your coffee beans for your order. Just like choosing your milk.
- Cafes are focused on 1 thing: coffee, tea and pastries. It’s hard to find a café that also serves food. You go to a restaurant for that.

- .onion - so hyped but if you love pastries you will find your happiness here. visit the “Anguk” cafe. It’s housed in a traditional hanok house - Jongno
- - marketing again, but imo the best salt bread - Jongno
- - tiramisu, coffee, lots of wood - Jongno
- retro coffee spot - Jongno
- Samcheong Bingsu - the best bingsu should be found here - let me know if you try bc they were closed when I got there and I don’t know if I’ll recover - Jongno
- Jidaebang - traditional tea house - Jongno
- - second floor of an unpretentious building. Lovely little place with fantastic fruit sando - Jung District
- - cute cafe & lunch (!) place - Jung District
- - coffee, sweets and breakfast - Jung District
- .kr - coffee corner at the very lovely clothing brand store - Yongsan
- - cute coffee shop, nice merch - Yongsan
