Spent a long weekend in very very lovely Scotland. For the curious, here’s our non-food related itinerary.

Day 1: afternoon from Edinburgh airport straight to Glasgow with the sole purpose of eating at . Had coffee at .coffee !! If you don’t want to do all that, fan out to nature immediately. We stayed at Knockderry Hotel at Loch Long, a dusty albeit cute little mansion with very affordable and charming rooms. This whole area of lochs is beautiful all around.

Day 2. English breakfast at aforementioned hotel, then in the car for 1h15 drive to hike Ben A’an with a stop at Loch Lomond. Stopped at Luss after, a cute village, had haggis, neeps and tatties (it’s a local dish) in the first pub we found but that we don’t necessarily recommend. I do recommend to stop at a local bakery instead to buy a pie and have a cute picnic. Finished our day at the hotel.

Day 3. Drove towards Glencoe (the highlands) for 1,5h with pit stop at Rest and Be Thankful (get a sausage bun at the foodcart) and Loch Fyne Oyster Bar (get oysters). Stopped at wee white house and hiked around the area. This whole drive is incredible. Waterfalls and streams everywhere and several hiking options along the road. Drove further to find a pub (not many options in this area), then back to Edinburgh airport (2,5h) with stop at Callander village for fudge and pies.

An ode to, and a favourite list of, Seoul cafes. Disclaimer, I have not visited them all, but my sources are solid. Continued in comments !

Some facts:
- The n1 coffee order is an iced americano.
- The best places will have you choose your coffee beans for your order. Just like choosing your milk.
- Cafes are focused on 1 thing: coffee, tea and pastries. It’s hard to find a café that also serves food. You go to a restaurant for that.

React to this post if you want my Google Maps list

- - tea, fruit sandos, drip coffees, everything very beautiful - Mapo
- - gorgeous place & one of the best coffees - Mapo & Jeju Island
- - coffee roaster - 3 locations, we loved the Mapo one
- .mulu - minimalist & absolutely lovely - Mapo
- - tea ceremony experience paired with sweets - Mapo
- - wood toned cafe with really good coffees
- .maa - a favourite, housemade sourdough buns and deserts that can’t be skipped !! - Seodaemun
- - Seodaemun

- - tiramisu, coffee, lots of wood - Jongno
- retro coffee spot - Jongno
- Samcheong Bingsu - the best bingsu should be found here - let me know if you try bc they were closed when I got there and I don’t know if I’ll recover - Jongno

I am working on a seoul café guide but this here little gem had to be shared soonest : .maa featuring a very good interior and perhaps the best desert of my life - fig, fig leaf oil, parsley soft serve, pear sorbet and sesame and almond crumble.
