Recap of last friday’s evening with dearest .bails. thank you all for coming !

we made 240 rabbit bitterbal kroketjes, handrolled an insane amount of pici, waited early before the belgianest of butchers for our 35 thin slices of veal, got ingredients from a total of 14 suppliers to create 7 small dishes with nostalgic belgian ingredients. it was a bit crazy but we had fun 🫶🏻

Spent a long weekend in very very lovely Scotland. For the curious, here’s our non-food related itinerary.

Day 1: afternoon from Edinburgh airport straight to Glasgow with the sole purpose of eating at . Had coffee at .coffee !! If you don’t want to do all that, fan out to nature immediately. We stayed at Knockderry Hotel at Loch Long, a dusty albeit cute little mansion with very affordable and charming rooms. This whole area of lochs is beautiful all around.

Day 2. English breakfast at aforementioned hotel, then in the car for 1h15 drive to hike Ben A’an with a stop at Loch Lomond. Stopped at Luss after, a cute village, had haggis, neeps and tatties (it’s a local dish) in the first pub we found but that we don’t necessarily recommend. I do recommend to stop at a local bakery instead to buy a pie and have a cute picnic. Finished our day at the hotel.

Day 3. Drove towards Glencoe (the highlands) for 1,5h with pit stop at Rest and Be Thankful (get a sausage bun at the foodcart) and Loch Fyne Oyster Bar (get oysters). Stopped at wee white house and hiked around the area. This whole drive is incredible. Waterfalls and streams everywhere and several hiking options along the road. Drove further to find a pub (not many options in this area), then back to Edinburgh airport (2,5h) with stop at Callander village for fudge and pies.
