Looking back to this video from 2012 nostalgically- I could still walk unassisted -if a bit wobbly- and didn't know (thankfully!) about the medical horror show that was about to unfold a bit later. Happy with the video itself though.

Ninette Murk is on a mission to make the world a better place. After a close colleague died from AIDS in 2004, the former fashion editor founded the Antwerp-based…

What's the best way to publish my book?

As you may know, I have started to write my biography that will center around my work in fashion, celebrities, secrets and social activism, but will also touch issues such as disability and PTSD.

I'm wondering how to go about it logistically: should I look for a publisher? Self publish? E-book and/or print to order? If so, what would be a good platform? Advice welcome!

Pictured is Veruschka wearing a T-shirt designed by Bernhard Willhelm for Designers against AIDS- covering three of the books issues, because I'm smart like that. Have a nice week, everyone!

I keep sharing this, because it's one of the loveliest messages I ever received. My friend Drieke Leenknegt wrote this in 2020 and I think it's still valid.
"I have know Ninette Murk since more than 20+ years. I interviewed her when I was 20 and she got me my first job as an intern for one of Belgian's lifestyle magazines back in the 90ies. We can't think about the Antwerp 6 without thinking about people such as Ninette who gave Belgian fashion its context back then and still today. Ninette is the avant-garde of the avant-garde. She kickstarted fashion collaborations way # # before the concept got widely spread. Most importantly is her strive to make the world a better place. Her work with DAA (Designers against Aids: go to http://www.designersagainstaids.com) has been one of the leading platforms to create awareness around aids globally by using pop culture as a vehicle. Happy birthday Ninette, you are one of the strongest, most amazing women I have ever met and I love you to pieces."

Designers Against AIDS

We're Designers Against AIDS, an international project to raise awareness in the international media and towards the general public. We want to reach young people in industrialised countries. We do this by using their favourite celebrities from the worlds of music, fashion, sports and art to raise their interest and curiosity, making them visit the website www.designersagainstaids.com.

DAA was born in Belgium, but we are active all over the world! Our main objective is to raise awareness and to get the subject of HIV/AIDS back into the media all over the world, as lately it has become a forgotten disease, especially in the western world.

On this page we post about the latest current topics, our blog, the website and so much more. If you have any questions at all, don't be afraid to contact us. We don't bite!
