New IDEC@EUDEC 2025 Speaker Spotlight: Magi Blagoeva
Talk: Science-Based Education 🧠
Magi Blagoeva is not easily defined by titles — though she holds many. Psychologist, therapist, teacher, university lecturer, Dance Movement Facilitator, researcher, and founder of the Democratic School ДемократичноТо in Sofia, Bulgaria. But more deeply, she is a free spirit, a lover of books and dance, and a passionate advocate for radical honesty, humanism, and every being’s right to choose and express.
Her journey weaves together psychology, education, movement, and unconditional acceptance, all guided by a core belief: human potential thrives when learning is free, supported, and understood.
As a Doctoral student in Social Pedagogy, Magi explores how mentoring can uplift young people’s psychological well-being and self-worth — and how education systems can support, rather than suppress, that growth.
Talk: Science-Based Education 🧠
For centuries, education has been shaped by instinct or power structures — what “felt right” or served military and industrial needs. But today, we have something powerful: science.
In her talk, Magi invites us to explore what research and psychology tell us about how humans truly learn. We know now that learning is innate — but we also know it can be disrupted. So what are the conditions that help it flourish? And what does it look like when we align education with these truths?
This talk is a call to educators, parents, and policymakers:
👉 Let’s build an education that reflects what we know.
👉 Let’s stop interfering with learning — and start supporting it.
📣 Come hear Magi share a compelling vision of education grounded in science, respect, and possibilities.
