Greek Toe: When the second toe is longer than the big toe.
Venus de Milo has it, Leonardo de Vinci’s Vitruvian man has it, Michelangelo’s David has it.
Are you one of the 15–20 percent of the population to have it; a Greek toe, or foot, medically known as Morton’s toe?
If so, in ancient Greece, you would have been considered creative, have great leadership qualities and be the life and soul of the party.
Ancient Greeks, rather than following the boring rule of proportion, as the Egyptians, centuries before them did, went with the “Golden Ratio”, or “ Divine Proportion”, the root of sacred geometry.
Examples of the “Golden Ratio”, were to be found everywhere in ancient Greece; in art, sculpture, architecture and yes, even in toes!

The foot of a 3.000 year old Egyptian mummy with a large prosthetic toe
The foot with the amputated toe belonged to a woman in her 60s when she died.
The prosthetic toe came with a nail grout, meaning that aesthetic was already practiced back then.
Ancient Egyptians often wore sandals, so the prothesis was also supposed to help the woman find her balance...
The artificial limb of the prothesis gave a balancing effect and gave, to some extent, freedom of movement.
According to scientists, 2 stages of prothesis adjustments occurred in her lifetime!

Wat is een neuroom van Morton?

Een Mortons neuroom is een zenuwbeknelling in de voet.
De verdikte gevoelszenuw ligt tussen de middenvoetsbeentjes en loopt door naar de tenen.
De beknelde zenuw in de voet zit meestal in de zenuw tussen de 3e en 4e teen (geteld vanaf de grote teen) soms tussen de 2e en 3e teen, en heel zelden tussen alle drie de tenen.
