✅ Like every year, the members of Belgium's '40sqn Heli SAR' have completed a BLS refresher course. 💪

❤️ Every member of the Squadron is capable of saving a life everywhere in every situation, not only during an intervention aboard the NH90-NFH. 🚁

💙 Wherever they are, they will act efficiently and quickly to increase the chances of survival for a victim suffering from cardiac arrest. 👍
🙏Respect for our real heroes.

🎉 The first Resuscitation Day at the Cantonal Hospital of Grisons was a wonderful success! Survivors, families, and emergency responders shared heartfelt stories, highlighting the importance of resuscitation. In 2024, the hospital and EMS recorded around 80 resuscitations, with nearly a third of patients leaving in good neurological condition. In-hospital circulation stabilisation was achieved in about 60% of cases, while outside the hospital, this figure was around 45%.

💙 The event included hands-on training in basic life support and launched the "Back to Life" network for ongoing support.

❤️ Due to strong demand, the next event is scheduled for December 12, 2026, aiming to enhance the quality of life for those affected and possibly establish a self-help group.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by the tragic fire in Crans-Montana.

The European Resuscitation Council stands in full solidarity with Switzerland and its emergency, healthcare, and civil protection services during this difficult time.

We also wish to express our sincere gratitude to all personnel involved in the response: first responders, emergency medical teams, hospital staff, civil protection units, transport teams, and volunteers. Their professionalism, dedication, and commitment under extremely challenging circumstances have been essential in ensuring timely care and saving lives.

We acknowledge and commend the coordinated European response that has enabled the rapid evacuation of patients for specialised burn care across multiple countries. This collective effort reflects the strength of cross-border cooperation and the shared commitment to ensuring access to the highest level of care when it is most needed.
