If “networking” makes you want to run out of the room or fake a phone call — this one’s for you.
I wrote a blog for all the creatives, DJs, and behind-the-scenes powerhouses who hate networking but still want to make moves in the music industry.
Let’s talk about:
👀 Why those industry events feel so awkward
🧠 The toll it takes on your mental health
⚡️And how to approach connection in a way that actually works for you — no fake smiles or forced convos required.
🛑 Stop drinking to calm your nerves if you want to become a better DJ, get noticed or grow your music industry network 🛑
- Is alcohol sabotaging your success in the music industry without you even realising it?
- Do you often need a drink or two to calm your nerves before a DJ set or a networking event?
- Did you know … 62,5% of electronic artists show signs of potential alcohol abuse and 51% of musicians in general have self-medicated due to negative emotions related to music creation?
- Is hangxiety or beer fear ruining your Sundays, rotting on the couch watching Netflix until you feel capable enough to get up and order greasy takeout?

Why women choose the bear? Why glorify substances? Why the low selfesteem?
Back for a second time at ESNS curating a panel and facilitating 2 workshops for 📯
Just like this year's edition, I am going back to Groningen to deliver 2 peer support workshops - this time on the topics of alchol use, misuse and abuse, and male allyship in the music industry.
On top of that, I am curating + moderating a panel on confidence building and mental health, bringing together diverse voices from underrepresented communities in the music industry and in society at large.
More details are coming soon. Keep an eye on this space if you want to support, join and interact with us in January!

Happy Sober October!🧃
I've been sober since 1/1/'21.
Since then, I've created and delivered workshops at music industry conferences on this topic.
And I've built a self-guided online Challenge with a ton of resources to help music industry professionals navigate 30 days of sobriety.
Whether you're looking to do an alcohol detox or just want to cut back and drink more mindfully, this Challenge helps you to self-reflect, handle triggers, cravings and criticism and keeps you motivated and enthusiastic to see it all the way through to the end. Or beyond, who knows.
As I've been learning and growing on my own journey of sobriety and recovery, I continue to add on resources to this Challenge each year. So once you're in, you get access to all the existing material and any and all future additions.
Today, I added TWO new audios:
1. Should you be consuming 0.5% AF drinks? And what about alcohol in foods?🍌
2. Are you dreaming about alcohol? Here's what they could mean 💤💭

I’m the captain of this ship. I’m a holistic (night)life coach and speaker.
I get to help health-conscious people who love the party lifestyle to find their direction in the dance music industry so that they can feel confident and motivated about the lifestyle they choose and build a life around their passion without wrecking their health and mental wellbeing.
I’ve been in music since I was 15 - starting out as a shy singer in a metal band and going clubbing on the weekends to escape my abusive home. Doing this helped me cope with some pretty deep s**t. Until I lost my mind, quite literally. Therapy saved me and life coaching healed my mind.
It has become my mission to help shape the dance music community into a healthy and positive environment for anyone who chooses to participate in it.
Speaking of community, I’m inviting you to join The Peacock Muster, my Facebook group - it’s a great safe environment for us to talk about wellness, wellbeing, peer support and have a positive experience in the dance music community - join here: bit.ly/TPM-Group⠀
You’ll need to answer a few questions before I let you in. It’s my way of keeping the group safe.
I believe in raving and behaving. It’s totally possible to find that balance and adopt a fulfilling, happy and healthy lifestyle. If you’re curious what this could look like for you, I’m happy to jump on a call and talk.
I also believe in avocados and sci fi, I’ll never say no to a spicy Bloody Mary or cuddling my 2 black and white fur babies. One of my guilty pleasures is watching KUWTK (if you don’t know what this is you’re not a true fan) and secretly wishing Ridge and Taylor will get back together.
You can find me on Reform Radio once a month with Mind The Music, my show exploring (artist) wellbeing in electronic music from a holistic viewpoint. Listen to past episodes here >>>
For those of you who aren’t aware yet, mental health in the music industry is a REAL problem.
The pilot survey conducted by Help Musicians UK (2016) illustrates that. The most striking finding was that irrespective of genre, musicians in the UK are suffering from anxiety and depression in huge numbers. 71.1% of all respondents admitted to having suffered from panic attacks and/or high levels of anxiety, and 68.5% suggested they had suffered from depression.
An artist is more than just a sum of his parts. It can be very challenging to find balance in music and in (night)life! I’m here to help, so don’t hesitate to reach out for a chat.
I meditate every day and I think you should too!
I’ve made it easy for you with my free guided grounding meditation. This quick, easy and fun technique will help you find your calm whenever, wherever. You can even do it in a toilet stall!
All it takes is only 10 minutes.
You can get this grounding meditation called 'Ready, Steady, Roots!' for free in your inbox as soon as you subscribe!
BONUS ALERT! The music was specifically produced for this meditation by Harted.
