Last week, 𝗔𝗻𝗮 𝗟𝗲𝗸š𝗲 was in residency at circuswerkplaats Dommelhof.

𝙍𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙨 is an immersive circus project in which a young girl journeys through an imaginary world, combining aerial performance, hair suspension, and shadow theatre.

During the residency, Ana focused on the interaction between aerial movement and shadow, as well as developing a rotating platform in the Dommelhof atelier.

During the Easter holidays, a group of young performers from 𝗳𝗔𝗕𝗨𝗟𝗘𝗨𝗦 joined a residency at 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗵𝗼𝗳. They are contributing to the new production 𝙊𝙪𝙞. 𝙉𝙤𝙣. 𝘼𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣. by 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆. This performance blends the energy and playfulness of 𝗳𝗔𝗕𝗨𝗟𝗘𝗨𝗦’s dance work with the unifying strength of 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆.

Last October, festival Theater op de Markt welcomed two reflection days under the title 𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐈𝐑𝐂𝐔𝐒 .

Initiated in 2023 in collaboration with this format invites circus companies to step away from the stage and into conversation.

𝐎𝐍 𝐂𝐈𝐑𝐂𝐔𝐒 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 took the shape of two morning conferences, bringing together four circus authors around two distinct thematic focuses.

🎪 ON Contemporary Big Top Circus shared insights from creations conceived for the circus tent, with contributions from Simon Bruyninckx and Marie Molliens .

🎭 ON Circus Scenography gathered reflections by Julian Vogel (.unlisted ) and Boris Gibé ( ), two artists whose work engages deeply with visual composition, plastic arts, and scenography in contemporary circus.

Het Vlaamse circus bloeit als nooit tevoren maar extra middelen zijn noodzakelijk. De sector verenigde zich en schreef een pleidooi.

“Het budget waarop deze sector draait is zo klein dat het een bloeiend veld dreigt te fnuiken. Er is zes miljoen extra nodig om de zorgvuldig opgebouwde dynamiek van de afgelopen jaren te
kunnen behouden en verder duurzaam te ontwikkelen.”

Dieter Missiaen of Compagnie Krak launched the new residency season at Dommelhof with a try-out of his upcoming outdoor show, 'Kintsugi'.

Supported by the CIRC’UIT-network, 'Kintsugi' will premiere next month at Plein de Cirque in de Warande, Turnhout (BE).

De dames van Studio Eclipse sluiten blindelings de laatste residentie voor de zomervakantie af. We kregen een mooi resultaat te zien van een intensieve werkweek rond ‘Labo van de tederheid’. Een creatie waarin je mag voelen, ruiken en horen. Tijdens de drie geslaagde try-outs merkten we dat het publiek enthousiast was. Ze spraken over een veilige, aangename beleving die smaakt naar meer!

‘Labo van de tederheid’ gaat in première tijdens Miramiro in Gent dit jaar.
