Everyone is born with a different body structure, so we cannot apply the same adjustments to every individual. That’s why I appreciate Mysore-style classes (self-practice Ashtanga classes), because I can observe the differences in each practitioner and apply adjustments accordingly.

As teachers, we need to consider not only body composition but also past injuries that may have caused imbalances in physical structure. Likewise, as students, we need to cultivate a critical mind—first trying what the teacher suggests, and if something doesn’t feel right, offering feedback.

Such sad news to hear of paramaguru Sharath Jois’s passing. His life was truly devoted to sharing the teachings of Ashtanga yoga, carrying forward the legacy of his grandfather, Sri K. Pattabhi Jois. His warmth, dedication, and passion for the practice touched so many, and his teachings inspired countless practitioners around the world.

May his soul find peace, reunited with his beloved grandfather, and may his light continue to guide and inspire through the impact he leaves behind in the Ashtanga yoga community. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in our hearts and practices 🤍🙏

Come to celebrate with us a super full moon this Friday by practicing Moon Sequence guided by Danka Bednárova, certified VKM teacher.

The full moon offers us an opportunity to feel a deep gratitude for blessings that we have. It is a time to commit ourselves to projects and relationships that mean most to us.

The Moon Sequence invites us to just feel, be and connect with our body and emotions. It is a gentle flow vinyasa sequence with focus on hips and shoulders.

When do you practice yoga?

Yoga should ideally be practiced in the mornings to salute the rising sun with sun salutations. To start a new day with well balanced body and mind. However, some people cannot get up in the mornings. For some, practicing in the evenings increases the level of energy and it is difficult to fall asleep afterwards.

🌑MOON SEQUENCE IMMERSION WORKSHOP 🌑
18.-20.10 & 21-23 self-practice
with Danka Bednárova certified Vinyasa Krama teacher to teach all sequences

We need sun (male) and moon (female) energy in our lives. Among Ashtanga practitioners, sun energy is preferred over moon (cooling, calming, restorative) energy. Both are needed to complement each other.

I invite you to this workshop to experience and to learn another sequence which you can practice at home or at my studio if your energy is low, if you go through your period, or if you just feel practicing it.

Moon sequence is different from YIN yoga because there is still a flow and it is a sequence that you can learn and practice.

I started with Moon sequence in 2015 when I went to Bali to practice with Matthew Sweeney. The effect of Ashtanga and Moon sequence was amazing. Hips slowly settled down and opened in restorative positions.
