Most clinics talk about graft numbers.
Far fewer discuss which grafts were selected, from where, and why that matters long term.
The mid-occipital (rear donor) region is typically the strongest donor zone, often containing higher hair groupings and thicker follicles. In many cases, clinics will immediately prioritise this area for extraction as the angles if hairs are much easier to harvest.
In this case, it remained completely untouched.
Instead, all 1,427 grafts were selectively taken from the side donor regions only.
Why?
Because not every hairline restoration requires use of the strongest donor reserve.
The finer single-hair follicles from the side regions allowed for a softer and more natural hairline design, whilst preserving the stronger donor reserve for any potential future progression.
Long-term strategy > short-term convenience.
Donor management is not simply about how many grafts can be removed today. It is about selecting the most appropriate grafts, from the most appropriate areas, whilst preserving options for the future.
The result:
A soft, natural and dense restoration using just 1,427 grafts, with exceptionally early growth already visible at 6 months.
