Musculoskeletal Sonography & Occupational Performance Laboratory The MSOP Laboratory is focused on translational research to advance the assessment, prevention and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders.

MSOP Laboratory uses a holistic approach to investigate two primary areas of research:

1. Advancing the use of sonographic imaging in the evaluation, prevention, and treatment of musculoskeletal disorders with a focus on the upper extremities.

2. The investigation of physical exposures, stress, psychosocial factors and personality traits as each relate to the development of musculoskeletal disor

ders and how each mitigate or promote successful prevention and rehabilitation efforts. Current research activities are focused on translating the use of musculoskeletal sonographic imaging from a research/diagnostic tool to a clinical tool for occupational therapists and other rehabilitation professionals. This includes investigation of tissue morphology, development of evaluation techniques, and exploration of the process and barriers for clinical implementation within rehabilitation.
