A gentle beacon in a chaotic world
✨✨✨
What I hear often when a child joins class is the awe and surprise that they are capable of being quiet and still for over an hour. Sometimes I hear “my kid could never”. Is that the true nature of the kid? Children are mirroring everything they see, especially at a very young age.
Have you ever sat quietly for an hour with your kid? *that you yourself are quiet and not distracted while your child is free to play, roam and, most importantly, observe.
My son and daughter have been coming to yoga since their first months and now Azad who is nearly 5 enjoys coming and sitting with me in class, occasionally. One night he explained, “Mom I want to come to yoga so I can be quiet and calm down a little bit.”
It is also a fun dynamic to see how your colors come out when you come to class with your kid. Are you micro managing their movements and sounds or can you fall into a different kind of practice?
Life is busy and fast paced these days so exampling stillness and calm is ever so important.
The next generation is watching and the world is changing are you choosing to be a part of it?
