Equine Influenza Vaccination: What's new?
As from 3 February 2025 each administration of an influenza vaccine must be recorded in the FEI HorseApp by the veterinarian on the day of administration. The name of the vaccine and the batch number must appear on the record. Between February and December 2025, FEI HorseApp users will gradually be able to complete their horse's vaccination history, both themselves via the app and/or by the vet when the next vaccination is due.
FEI vets will check the horse's vaccination status via the app when the horse arrives at the international competition. Please ensure that the information is complete and correct.
The app will also send automatic reminders when a vaccine is about to expire.
The vaccination app is available to FEI vets, riders, grooms, owners, trainers. Veterinarians not registered with the FEI can also enter vaccination data after completing a short 10-minute online training course.
Further information is available on https://inside.fei.org/fei/your-role/veterinarians/department-updates?year= in the form of manuals and videos in five languages (English, French, German, Spanish and Portuguese). Read this article in FR/NL on our website www.equibel.be.
