Eatris Bulgaria EATRIS – Bulgaria is the National node of the EUROPEAN INFRASTRUCTURE FOR TRANSLATIONAL MEDICINE EATRIS - ERIC (https://eatris.eu)

EATRIS-ERIC is a pan-European consortium bringing together over 100 leading scientific and academic institutions in Europe, created to accelerate the process of translating research findings into innovative strategies and approaches for disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment. Bulgaria joined EATRIS-ERIC as an Observer In 2018. Full Membership was granted by the Ministry of Education and Science and approved by EATRIS-ERIC in July 2019.

The ERDERA Joint Transnational Call (JTC) 2025 is now open! EATRIS is a proud partner of the Erdera project bringing together over 170 organisations from 37 countries to improve the lives of over 30 million patients in Europe and beyond.

The call theme is: “Pre-clinical therapy studies for rare diseases using small molecules and biologicals – development and validation.”

Submitted projects should address at least two of the following:
🟣 Development of novel therapies in a pre-clinical setting.
🟣 Creation and validation of predictive and pharmacodynamic biomarkers.
🟣 Replication of pre-clinical findings to enhance reliability.
🟣 Pre-clinical proof-of-concept studies for therapy readiness.

The Annual Meeting of EATRIS Bulgaria brought together top researchers and experts to discuss groundbreaking advances in translational medicine, from stem cell therapies to innovative bio-printing and 3D models.

With a dedicated conference on cutting-edge research, presentations from international and Bulgarian scientists, and collaborative sessions with BBMRI ERIC Bulgaria, the event highlighted the future of biomedical innovation. Ethical, legal, and social aspects of biobanking and new EU regulations also took centre stage.

Kudos to all participants for an inspiring event driving research and collaboration forward!

Scientific Conference "Advances in Translational Medicine" was held in Sofia on 7-9 November 2024 as part of the Annual meeting of Eatris Bulgaria 2024. The event was organized by Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" under the patronage of the National Infrastructure "Cell Technologies in Biomedicine - INFRAACT" from the National Roadmap of Research Infrastructures of Bulgaria. Intensive scientific sessions focused on advanced research in the field of cell reprogramming, stem cells products, bioprinting and 3D experimental models, genomic profiling and biomarkers in translational research featured by reputable international scientists as well as by Bulgarian scientific teams. Ethical, legal and social aspects related to biobanking of products of human origin and their use for translational medicine purposes were discussed in a joint session of the Bulgarian Nodes of BBMRI-BG Node and EATRIS Bulgaria.
The latest flagship project of EATRIS - was presented by the Bulgarian Node National Coordinator.
We were most happy to welcome the Chair of the Haplo-iPS COST action Anna Veiga and young researchers from the project network.

We are now pleased to announce the formal invitation for registration and personal participation in the scientific conference "Advances in Translational Medicine" organized by the national node EATRIS-Bulgaria at Sofia University "St. Kliment Ohridski" November 7-9, 2024 at Grand Hotel Sofia. The deadline for early bird registration for invited lecturers and scientists is until September 23, 2024. Expressions of interest to participate can be send to Organizers directly or by filling out the form available for download at: https://infraact.eu/registration/ and sending it to: eatrisbulgaria@gmail.com.

We are happy to announce the first call for participation in EATRIS-Bulgaria Annual Conference 2024 “Advances in Translational Medicine” on 7-9 November 2024, Grand Hotel Sofia, Sofia Conference Hall.

Topics include:
• Cellular reprogramming and stem cells
• Cell technologies and experimental models
• Translational research - biomarkers
• Genome editing and reverse genetics
• Ethical, legal and social aspects
• Digitization and translational medicine

Participation will be free of charge and expression of interest are invited at: eatrisbulgaria@gmail.com.
Short oral presentations and posters from young scientists and PhD students will be encouraged and supported in a specially dedicated session.

Thanks to all the attendees, speakers & hosting team of the HAPLO-iPS event in Amsterdam this week. There were amazing discussions & a buzzing atmosphere from the 75 researchers who attended to work towards providing a framework for hiPSC generation.
