What a thrilling experience of Inclusion Week at the Anglo American School of Sofia! We came together to celebrate diversity and promote a deeper understanding of inclusion, neurodiversity, and the fabulous sparkle that makes us all different.

Teachers, administrators and other staff joined with students and families for a series of engaging activities including inspiring talks from guest speakers, read aloud sessions, and information booths that helped us change our perspectives and grow in our understanding of these important topics. Let's break down barriers and create a more inclusive world, one step at a time.

We’re thrilled to announce the kickoff of Inclusion Week at the Anglo American School of Sofia! 🎉 Next week, we’re coming together to celebrate inclusion and expand our understanding of the people in our community.

Join us for a series of engaging activities, including inspiring talks from guest speakers, read-aloud sessions, workshops, learning engagements, and information booths that will help us grow in our understanding of these important topics. Let’s break down barriers and create a more inclusive world, one step at a time. 👣

Save the Date!!! SENIA Bulgaria is SO excited to announce our next conference, "Inclusion For All" with special guest, April Remfrey.

April is a 20-year teaching veteran turned educational consultant, passionately guiding international schools and globally mobile families toward embracing neurodiversity and supporting children with disabilities.

Join us on October 4th and 5th for two full days jam-packed with meaningful, inclusive practice learning opportunities here in Sofia, Bulgaria at the Anglo-American School of Sofia.

Motivational speaker, powerlifter, rapper, and AAS Tech Guru Ivan Arnaudov spoke with students from grade 2-12 about overcoming challenges in life and coming out on top. His advice includes:

-Face your fears.
-Control your emotions.
-Most of your lessons will be learned from the bad days. Don't hate the bad days.
-Don't be ashamed of yourself or feel sorry for yourself.
-Appreciate the moment.

As a homeroom teacher in first grade, one of the most impactful parts of the week has been our daily readalouds on inclusive topics. I'm so grateful that we have a diverse group of staff, including administrators, middle and high school teachers, older students, and learning support teachers, all of whom are willing to come to the classrooms and read books throughout the breadth of the inclusion theme. The conversations that spring up after this kind of situation are invaluable, and show the students that the message of Inclusion Week is coming from all directions.

Last weekend, two members of our SENIA Bulgaria team had the opportunity to present at the 2023 CEESA Conference (Central & Eastern European Schools Association) in Vilnius, Lithuania. Amanda Frank and Eleftheria Patsika presented about the Behavior Support Program they have created and implemented at the Anglo-American School of Sofia. It was a wonderful experience to connect with other educators from around the world and share our experiences.
