On Friday March 13th 2026 the MoonGate Group has once again distributed its “We Care Packages” to vulnerable persons in the community. The inaugural campaign began in 2020 where it had a distribution of 100 packages. Due to the demand over the years this number has doubled and we have maintained the distribution of 200 packages. MoonGate Group appreciates the assistance of several of its own HealthGap partners who answer to the call and deliver essential hygienic items which will help out those in need of basic requirements. We would like to highlight co-sponsor Butterfield & Vallis, who has been incredibly generous and has supported this community project since its inception.
Mr. Leon Bascome, CEO of MoonGate stated that “while sometimes I feel that our effort is insignificant compared to the actual need in our community, all I need is for one person to remind me how important this is. I thank that person for the call. Many organizations continue to give of their time and talents; so, we applaud them, as well. In my younger years, there was a particular theme: “each one, reach one…” Hopefully, our partners can reach all 200 quickly. I am grateful for the MoonGate Team and our HealthGap partners (and others) who successfully bring this to fruition.
Group Recipients included:
Christ Church in Warwick
Teen Haven
Harbour Light
Bethel AME Church
First Church of God North Shore
Mental Health Treatment Court Program
Eliza DoLittle Society
Ms. Chantel Simons, Business Development Officer at MoonGate, who organizes the event every year noted that ‘We are very thankful to our HealthGap Partners with MoonGate Group for joining us on this important initiative for our community. A number of our MoonGate partners have joined in for the cause over the years since the inception of the program in 2020, and continue to contribute every year. This year we have held our numbers to 200 We Care Packages, recognizing the need while also doubling our numbers from the initial start in 2020. We are proud to support and help our Bermuda community. Each year we see the need of additional help for our local charities, and have found a way to answer to the call with our HealthGap Partners. We look forward to continuing our efforts to make a positive impact on our community.
